Love you Rummy for raising the the problem of camera angle, haven't enjoyed watching a fight on DAZN because of that camera angle, just gives me fits.

Please don't change your prediction of Fury beating Wilder

We need your jinx so my boy Deontay can do the business.

Good video Rummy. Still, can't agree with the logic that a modern 220lb HW having success against a modern 6'6 240lb super HW means golden era HW's would have the same success. It's neglecting to acknowledge that Usyk, too, is a modern fighter. Not to mention, Joshua is barely in the top 5 of the division in terms of skill.

The notion that golden era HW's would struggle mightily with a SKILLED big man remains intact. The Klitschko's, Lennox, Fury - fighters who are not only the biggest but the most skilled will always be a nightmare for smaller fighters. The globalization of boxing and the melding of styles is a real thing. These guys are sparring all around the world with guys who are sparring all around the world and are seeing footage of new techniques implemented all the time, everywhere. The talent pool is 10 times the size.

Would Ali toy with Joshua? He very well may have, but maybe not. Would he toy with actual All Time Greats far bigger than himself? I don't think so.

That said, Muhammad Ali KO1 Everyone from now 'til eternity.

I am willing to bet my missus that Fury smokes Wilder. He only has a punchers chance and that’s about 5%, even then Fury might get up, like he has done before.

Ali was bigger than his opposition just like Lewis, Wlad, Fury, Joshua etc.

He was a super heavy for his time. Would be a cruiser/tweener in todays division just like Usyk. I cant see him being successfull with his style and havent seen him fight like a small boxer against skilled SHW's A shame he never fought Stevenson for some references.

So cant compare them like that.

I think Ali would toy with Joshua, so would Holmes. Would they toy with Lennox Lewis? Absolutely not. And while I'd favour them over Wlad and Bowe, they definetly wouldn't toy with them either. That's the thing here, all of this need to be evaluated case by case, match up by match up, styles need to be contrasted, not the eras they fought in. What Usyk did doesn't necessarily mean that fighters of the Golden Era would have the same success in this era, but It doesn't mean that they wouldn't either.

Where Rummy has a very good point is that this garbage about past greats standing zero chance against the mondern super heavyweights BECAUSE OF THE SIZE DIFFERENCE(which has been repeated hundreds and hundreds on this forum, including by the troll who responded to you above) is indeed debunked by Usyk. It's proven that skill beats size.

I do think that Usyk is a bad example of the insignificance of 'modern training'. Usyk and Loma are the first people that come to mind when thinking of unorthodox novel training methods and I think it shows in their styles and performances.

    I have to agree, Stiffjeb.
And the idea that a 187-pound fighter from the 1940s could compete with an AJ, a Fury or a Usyk still strikes me as ludicrous.

    No disrespect intended.
