Despite his well-deserved, fierce reputation, Tyson didn't have that many first-round stoppages, against his higher-end challengers.

Only Spinks, Williams and Stewart spring to mind.

I don't see how Michael Spinks qualifies as lineal champ.

Holmes never unified in the first place and by the time he fought Spinks he had been blatantly ducking the best for years.

Looking back with interpretation, following rigid criteria people pretend has always been the way (1v2) I can actually understand that.

However, Spinks was the champ, everyone knew it at the time.

Kinda like how everyone at the time knows Fury is the champ now.

Ruddock looked fairly basic v Doke, I`m not sure what you`re trying to point out, he had great power and good hand speed.

Probably not that many. Taking out a prime world heavyweight champion in only one round isn’t something that’s happened all that often in history. Tyson did it to spinks obviously but that wasn’t a prime champion. Liston did it to Patterson. Smith did it to Witherspoon but I’ve always questioned the integrity of that fight. I’m sure someone could come up with more examples but it didn’t happen that often.

Tyson would definitely take out the old timers, like Sullivan, Corbett, Tunney (assuming he doesn't run for his life), Fitzsimmons, etc

Oh I’d favor Tyson to WIN those fights. But I wouldn’t just assume that they’d all be first round KO’s. Especially Tunney who was hard to catch.
