In other words, ATG fighters who are younger than Floyd and Pac. I think Canelo, Usyk, Ward, Loma, Donaire and Roman are ATGs. How do you rank them? You can add other ATG fighters if you think there are others. My rank: 1-Canelo 2-Usyk 3-Ward 4-Donaire 5-Roman 6-Loma
Uzyk, Donaire, Loma, Ward has too many Question marks in my opinion, Canelo only barely scraps in. (Yes i heavily judge ATG's not just by results, but Home advantage, Drug tests, wiffs of corruption as its soo big these days). Shame GGG didn't get the opposition when he was in his prime otherwise he would be an ATG. Same would go with Beterbiev/Error Spence/Crawford. All just lack scalps. Inoue is on his way very soon with the way hes crushing through. Josh Taylor is also another one whose heading that way to if he can get another few "top scalps" on his resume.
Usyk and Ward are definitely ATGs imo. Ward is seen as one of the goats of 168 by most boxing fans. Usyk is the GOAT CW. Donaire, Roman and Loma have some problems. I agree that.
The first group of guys are those whom I believe are already ATG fighters. The second group are those who either have not done quite enough or fought quite enough to currently qualify but have very good chances to achieve ATG status. 1. Roman Gonzalez 2. Canelo Alvarez 3. Gennady Golovkin 4. Donnie Nietes 5. Chayaphon Moonsri 1. Oleksandr Usyk 2. Terence Crawford 3. Vasyl Lomachenko 4. Naoya Inoue 5. Tyson Fury 6. Josh Taylor
Roman Gonzales probably #1. Ward, Usyk, Donaire are up next. Not confident in calling any others ATGs yet.
I like the addition of the small guys. I think Usyk has crossed over to ATG though (as in, even if he retires tomorrow he has a real place in history).
Thank you for the comment about the smaller fighters. I am really torn about Usyk. In general, this forum is quite enamored with him and I have been ripped numerous times for suggesting that, perhaps, he didn't walk on water. As far as my concept of an all-time great, I think they need to be in the upper echelon of Hall of Famers. Obviously, by the way I rated him I think Usyk is a great fighter and will be a HOF member but I just don't have the love for him which so many do. I believe that is related to my feelings about his cruiserweight reign. Unifying the title and going on the road to do it was very impressive. However, other than Maris Briedis I didn't think the beat a particularly special group. He has won against maybe one possible HOFer and I would like to see him beat other really top fighters before I think of him as an all-time great.
