WHY NOT ? This is the reason you can never listen to the masses ..When a good fight is made people still ***** !:| :| :| :| :rofl
That's the funny thing - I reckon Hopkins out-hustles Pavlik, thus proving that Pavlik would have proved no problem to Calzaghe. Guarantee that the day AFTER this happens all the fair weather Yank fans start coming out of the woodwork saying Pavlik was a bum & they were one of the few that never thought he would amount to **** anyway. Then the search for the next Yank hopeful that can beat Calzaghe begins - Oh, ****, there isn't one - Just like there isn't one at the moment... :scaredas:
It could be a good match-up. I never said it couldn't be one. But all I'm saying is after Pavlik wins which many people feel he will if that fight comes off, then all the people are gonna say is he beat a welterweight and criticize him for not taking a tougher fight.
I think this is a great opportunity for Pavlik. If he can blast through Hopkin's defensive shell and crumple him to the ground that will be a major accomplishment even at Hopkins age. I don't think people would take it lightly at all. I would think that Hopkins style of fighting with his back to the ropes will be tailor made for Pavlik - but we'll see. Then let's have a Jones-Hopkins undercard for Calzaghe-Pavlik next year!
I have no prob wit this fight. Its a better fight than fighting a Welterweight. If Pavlik is as nice as people say he is, thi will b nothin more than a tuneup 4 Calzaghe right? I mea nHopkins is 43, if he beats him, h can honestly say I had Bernard hopkins for a tuneup for Calzaghe. No1 else can say that, so i say sure, put your money where your mouth is:yep. If this fight is easy then he should destroy hopkins and go on. RIGHT?
How can you guys ***** about a match between the best middleweight of the past ten years with the reigning and dominant middleweight champ? They should change the name of this forum to the East Side Bitching Session.
Next to Calzaghe, Kessler, Abraham, and maybe Dawson this is the best fight out there for Pavlik legacy wise. Hopkins is old and boring but still world class.
