I think if we are to look at the truly outstanding fighters of the recent and current generation, Alvarez and Mayweather are truly at the very very top in all of history.

Clearly Mayweather dominated the match they had (not sure why one judge called it even?).

I think it's safe to say Alvarez is a very very different fighter today than the one who fought Mayweather.

How would the scorecards and results go if this hypothetical match were to be had, peak for peak? Does today's Alvarez have a chance of beating the past Mayweather or is Mayweather's defence and movement still too good for a peak Alvarez?

    Peak Mayweather was 130 lbs.

Current Canelo beats 2013 Mayweather at 154 with better stamina adjustment.

Mayweather wins after Canelo cuts off his leg to make weight and passes out from blood loss.

Peak for peak, there’s about 4/5 weight divisions between them.

Neither of them are the very very top in history. Mayweather's better anyway, in his pomp he was toying with the best guys around like Corrales and Hernandez. Shame he went to the cherrypicking program since the Castillo fights but he went on a great run regardless. Canelo has had his resume boosted by two controversial decisions over GGG and his run at 168 is akin to Crawford at 140 for me, feasting on a weak enough division for glory.

Floyd would just run & dance like a ballerina Vegas judges wouldn't know who to favor. The NSAC would tell them Canelo Floyd's already made a laughing stock of himself

Peak Clenelo is right now — 8 years after they fought. Meaning it's an impossible matchup. Clenelo today is a roided monster that has crushing power from 168-175.

160-175, Clenelo would put Floyd's head in the bleachers.

    Just as befuddled and hopeless.

Let him bulk up over 200lbs, result is the same.
