It just seems like WB is nitpicking what truly is a remarkable record. I have Evander only after Ali, Louis, and Holmes, he was a phenomenal fighter.

Most of the time I get the feeling WB just likes being a contrarian.

I like WEIRD! My whole family's weird - ESPECIALLY ME! I've almost forgotten how to act around "normal" people.

Wow! Keep the stories coming. What language was that? How about starting a thread revolving around your early boxing related experiences, fights watched or heard on the radio, weave in other tales...And invite others to do the same?

For the record, Holyfield enthusiasts are supposed to speak of the second fight with Lewis as if Holyfield deserved to win, not mention the draw like in the first fight like it really should’ve been a draw.

The first fight was a pretty bad robbery. The second Holy fought better, but Lewis was obviously the winner imo.

1st fight I had 4 points for Lewis, three points for LL in the second.

But I don't think Lewis did his rep many favors in either fight, in fact his lack of a consummate victory against a WAY past it Holy (as well as the kos by McCall and Rahman of course) keeps me from putting him above Evander as ATG.

I didn't attend either fight live. I hesitate to presume that I can score the fights better from a screen than those sitting at ringside. That's on me. I have no argument with those who think they can. They may be right, but, personally, from experience in scoring the same fights both ways, I tend to lean in favor of ringside.

I had him winning both. Never watched those fights twice.

But I don’t think Lewis was even favored in the first fight over Holyfield. Maybe slightly. It’s kind of revisionist to say he should’ve done anything but win.

And Holyfield’s loses to Moorer, a faded Bowe (by stoppage), and Ruiz aren’t all that favorable to Lewis’ loses, which he avenged.

I feel you are vastly overrating him.
Like I said, he has wins over ATGs who were not at their best, and against ATGs who he also lost to or has a negative record against, which makes his wins kinda void.
I'll give you an example so you can understand my thought process better. Let's say we have 2 boxers,
    This content is protected
    and
    This content is protected
    :
    -
    This content is protected
has 3 wins over 3 ATGs and 7 wins against average and bum opponents.
    -
    This content is protected
has 8 wins over ATGs, but also losses against 6 of those same ATGs, and 2 wins over bums.
    This content is protected
will always rank higher for me, cause despite having beat less ATGs, he has never lost to any of them.
    This content is protected
might have beaten 8, but he also lost to 6 of those 8, thus kinda annuling his wins. So it's like he only remains with 2 that he beat and didn't loose to.
3 is bigger than 2, thus
    This content is protected
    is greater than

And that mail to young @djanders arrived on time in that covered wagon. Because if it didn’t, Postmaster General Benjamin Franklin would have found a new Pony Express rider to get the job done.

I'd like to see how many heavyweights you can name with wins over ATG's and i'm not talking Tyson over Holmes, Holmes over Ali or Charles over Louis type stuff.
