Nah I am tired of the assumptions that EVERYONE lies & cheats-without a shred of evidence for this. This is just as extreme & uninformed as the naive assumption that nobody ever used PEDs if they are not caught. Nobody in any sport has the integrity or wisdom (or self-interest when it is detected adequately) to not cheat & lie-that is an extremely unfair assumption about all athletes. How about assuming everyone who is caught somehow got a false positive, lol! Equally irrational. Many cheat. Nobody here knows if that means maybe 20% or 80%. Or if this number encompasses those who once cheated, or regularly do. Quack the Duck is right that the degree of cheating is also important. And others say it is a dangerous sport so yeah the effect & dangers go beyond stealing money, fame, titles from honest men.
I will say this. As someone who follows sports in general religiously---- and specific sportswriters like Breadman Edwards, I must say. There is EXTREME cheating apathy in boxing, or in general by significant amounts of the American sports establishment.
No, that is simply objectively and statistically not true. This is a myth that became prevalent God knows when, and people use obscure quotes from guys who get exposed as evidence (anecdotes aren't arguments.) Guys like Lomachenko, Usyk , GGG, athletes hailing from obscure nations have probably never used drugs in their lives. PEDs are just a sign of misgivings about one's own assets and skills. Not every athlete is like that. PEDs are not a necessity, and they're fairly expensive. Some places have strong cultures of them-- like the UK with a million users OUTSIDE OF SPORTS. But this notion that all elite athletes, as numerous as they may be, are all on PEDs is an infantile notion. Just not logistically and statistically possible.
Nah dude, now several of us are telling you in detail using various lines of reasoning, how it is absurd to conclude everyone is a cheatin' lyin' drug factory. In fact it is less like you conclude than you just assume without being able to cite *any* evidence for a conclusion as extreme as saying nobody ever uses, or perhaps everyone ever caught was innocent! You did not answer with any arguments to me or others. Please do not reply to me IF you only repeat again an unsupported premise 'they all use". That is like me saying everyone in say a single trade, or of a single race or nation, all does some illegal & totally unfair activity. It is unfair to athletes & boxers, deeply cynical, & again you have no actual evidence nor rebuttals for any of us.
The most blatant transformation since Paz is probably Wilder putting on 30 lbs of lean muscle from the first Fury fight.
I think he puts too much stock in the morality of men who viciously knock each other out. There are good men in boxing but it's a violent business.
