Her opponent for the fight looks bang up for this in fairness to her. I think Tasha Jonas speaks sense as regards to the issue raised by Courtenay- although everyone is different it seems like a very strange excuse.

The thing that shocks me the most is that as the home fighter, Courtenay didn’t just pull out of the show claiming illness so that the fight can be rescheduled for the Whyte card. She must have known in the morning that she was way off weight. Perhaps she needs the dough so couldn’t afford to do that. If she was genuinely drinking at the AJ fight she really is a first class weapon. Other female fighters would kill to have the opportunities she’s had landed on her plate. When Ruiz came in terrible shape against AJ for the rematch at least he was honest and admitted he was eating and partying too much. He could have taken a leaf out of Courtenay’s book and complained about alcohol and food addiction and become an ambassador for Slimfast.
Just finished watching the behind the scenes video of the press conference. Mitchell has that quiet confidence, while it's the same old stuff from Shannon "Cool.calm.collected. blessed to be here" etc. At that point she will have known she wasn't making weight. A handy rule of thumb is the more a fighter uses the word blessed, the bigger a weapon they are.
Yeah I agree. I think it's the money, apparently she was on insta 2 weeks ago selling AJ tickets for a "Friend" at 5x the face value, she made stubhub look reasonable. I just can't believe Hearn hasn't cut her loose now, she hasn't got a fanbase, she doesn't interact with fans on social media because they don't like her, she's had the email stuff, the tickets.. even in interviews now they turn the comments off. I just don't understand why Hearn persists.
