Forced to choose, I would favor Foreman by KO. But I say that with no real conviction. Spinks was smart and awkward with great stamina and work rate. George had trouble with these kinds of guys.
It's hard to imagine Spinks winning a fight against Foremen version one and he would have struggled against Foreman version two.
Before both his knees went bad Spinks certainly had a chance at taking a decision off Foreman, but if Foreman connects clean even once Spinks would be taken out on a stretcher.
If Spinks fought cautiously, he *could* win a decision. Michael was very slick, awkward and good on his feet. He'd stay at a distance and use his jab and flurries to outbox Big George. Foreman is dangerous though with his incredible power so if he lands, he could very well stop Spinks. Likely scenario is a Foreman win via knockout, but I'm not counting a Spinks decision victory out. Spinks was a very smart fighter and showed success at heavyweight even though he had bum knees and wasn't prime.
Spinks would make it about the same amount of time he did against Tyson. He just wasn't made to fight guys with a great heavyweight punch, a hungover and partied out Cooney doesn't count.
Depends on which Foreman. If it's the young Foreman, he probably takes out Spinks inside 2 rounds. If it's the old Foreman, he probably loses a decision.
