Great little career recap on Henry Armstrong. I'd like add two impressive facts which I read in the thread: "Unbreakable Boxing records" (listed by @Bukkake ) https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/unbreakable-boxing-records.641038/ - 12 world title fights in one calendar year (1939) - 5 world title fights in one calendar month (Oct. 1939) He could even almost be a title holder in the middleweight division. 1940 he fought NYSAC middleweight champion Ceferino Garcia to a draw which was a gift for Garcia. Truly one of the greatest fighters ever!
Actually Armstrong didn't get hit cleanly as much as his style would suggest he would. He was very good at smothering his opponents fire power.
H2H - Toss up, one of my favourite matchups OAT. P4P - Henry Armstrong, he has a very good claim to GOAT alongside 3 or 4 others in my book 135 - Roberto Duran is pure perfection there. Has to be Duran. Better infighter - Another toss up for me. Duran was a scientist on the inside but could box and was comfortable at mid range. Armstrong was relentless and completely committed to fighting on the inside. Both extremely skilled in the pocket and it's nearly impossible for me to pick.
P4P - Armstrong 135 - Duran I never rank people on head to head impossible to truly know these fantasy fights will go if any of us knew that we'd be billionaires off gambling.
Duran's inside work was more eye catching but Armstrong was a very very special inside fighter himself that's for sure.
