I've got to give it to Wilder. He fought an absolute war tonight and came close to sealing the deal. He didn't give up and proved himself to still be a huge force in the division. Fury on the other hand worried me a little. He seemed sloppy at times and seemed a bit reckless. Still an excellent display and reminder as to why he's number 1. Thoughts?
Yeah inside the ring .. big heart tonight.. But outside the ring.. ZERO CREDIT. There was no sportsmanship after the fight, he needs to admit he was beaten by the better man with no excuses.
but he really wasnt close in the ring either... His 2 knockdowns were knockdowns... The knockdowns that he took looked liked they were gonna be knockouts... then there were the non knockdowns from 5th-10th where his legs were even locking, he was a love tap away from swimming with the sharks. So at the end of the day... he actually didnt do it where it counts either.
He definitely had Fury in trouble for the first knockdown. Gotta give credit where it's due. Hell even Fury gave him credit and admitted Wilder hurt him.
Well, Wilder is now in hospital so nobody can question his courage or heart. Hopefully he is OK, I'm sure it's just precautionary but he took a beating.
Im not attacking wilder. im attacking your statement. You said wilder was close to sealing the deal. But thats not really the case. Did he hurt fury? yes. But even with the 2 knockdowns it didnt look like the fight was over.
Yeah, taken to hospital, he was taken there as a precaution. I think with the official stepping in this he ring and asking him if he was OK and then the continued beating and then the brutal final shot... I don't think they had any other choice but to take him to hospital and get him checked out thoroughly.
Nope, being honorable & taking responsibility like a man-& as an example to others especially kids-is also, & maybe especially, where it counts. Sportsmanship & being in touch with reality *matter*.
