Time for Wilder's apologists to make those excuses and bang the drum for a fourth Fury vs Wilder fight, hoping against hope that the outcome will go Wilder's way. In this regard they are as bad as Wilder himself, and their behaviour only enables him further. Time for those people to do themselves some good by admitting that Fury was simply the better man on the night, and let it go.
Fury was fresh in the fourth round. He just dropped two times. Wilder was looking worse than Fury despite two KDs.
People who spout that hypothesis are conveniently forgetting that Wilder did knock Fury out in the final round of their first fight, with plenty of time left in said round. Look how that turned out.
He didn't look hurt badly to me. In some ways it might have benefitted Wilder, prevented him from blowing the energy he had left in trying to end the fight.

If the round was longer, he would have been in trouble for longer, and might have been knocked down again. Then the round ends, the timelines converge, and the story of the fight is ultimately the same.
