It's never looked this bad. Wilder and Ruiz are past their best. Franklin and Bryan are bums and Jared Anderson has no defence.
Wilder isn`t past his best he just got exposed and Ruiz was sloppy in his last two fights, he was never that good to begin with, just had fast combo`s and was pretty sharp, Usyk devalued Ruiz`s win v AJ.
Wilder's best was never all that. He wasted what should've been his prime years fighting journeymen and the occasional gatekeeper.
I disagree. Wilder is past wherever best he had. He'll be 36 the next time's in the ring if he doesn't retire.
American heavyweight scene has been nowhere since the 1990s. The dominance was always going to end once Eastern Europe and Russia legalized pro boxing. But looks like Europe is going for complete dominance over the next decade once again. Lets not forget, Wilder was protected for 5 years. He was really only North American Champion who fell upon the WBc strap and kept it hostage.
A small number were posting this 10+ years ago and it drew heavy criticism from the America is always the best crowd. Not to mention some not exactly hidden racial biases. I was one that agreed that the US dominance had ended. I recall one guy saying that future HW champs will originate from Europe or Africa, not the US. Let's face it, too many Americans, from all ethnic/ racial groups, have become soft. Agreed.
