Andre Ward was awful

Andre "I was hyped on the inside" Ward couldn't manage to contain his favoritism for more than a few second at a time last night. There are plenty of commentators out there, no one is interested in hearing from a Wilder apologist for the duration of the fight. Brilliant analysis in round 6 when he declared that "Wilder looks the fresher of the two" as he's stumbling backwards on stilts.

His commentary during the Ajagba fight was terrible too. Four or five minute long rants about how HE would motivate Ajagba and what his coach should do. Is Ward a trainer now that he did a photoshoot with Plant?

Haven't ever disliked Ward commentary but tonight he was clearly too emotionally invested for personal reasons.

Meh. Sometimes I like him as a talking head. Sometimes not. At least he ain't Kellerman.

 

I 100% expect it from those broadcasts. Sometimes they're actively cheerleading.

 

Last night it was too obvious Andre Ward was rooting for and emotionally invested in Wilder.

It was comical after the second knock down of Wilder when they showed all the other announcers jumping up in the excitement of it all. And there was Ward staying in his seat all stone-faced.

 

He was backing and cheering on his fellow countryman which is fine.

 

Jingoistic Wartard.

 

I like him better than Kenny. That guy never shuts up! They must pay him by the word.

 

Ward is the worst! Arrogant punk who never misses an opportunity to blow his own horn. He’s his own biggest fan and acts like he invented boxing. Seeing his guy, Wilder get his ass kicked and put to sleep made it even more fun for me. I don’t mind Porter, Timmy is an idiot but is more likable than Ward. The only guy I dislike more is POS RJJ who completely sucked during the AJ Usyk fight. RJJ wasn’t bad in his HBO days but that was a long time ago. He’s a shell of a man these days but still managed to suck AJ’s schlong the whole night. Worthless commentator, maybe the only one worse than Ward. Maybe.

 

I can’t say Lennox Lewis was brilliant last night either, but was made to look a much better due to Andre Wards poor commentary,

 

Kenny is awful.

He always starts b***ching about something irrelevant that no one cares about and carries on for a whole round or two.

 

You know you had a bad night when you make LL look magic on the mic.

 

Hey now, Lennox clearly improved a lot on the mic and puts his points across a lot better .

I always thought him to be the type of person who was very eloquent in his head but wasn't able to articulate his thoughts to the fullest , glad to see him improve a bit.

 

Lennox was the best commentator during the DAZN broadcast, no doubt.

Ward was pish poor on the night.

 

I’d sure hope not. He woulda bankrupted Fox and ESPN he talks so much.
