Some of the boxers Wilder knocked out were knocked out before and or after he fought them. Wilder is the definition of a manufactured champion.
He's dangerous and is capable of knocking out anyone but he's just not that good, the blueprint is out on how you beat him and I wouldn't be surprised if he took another loss relatively soon. Saying that, he showed great heart last night to his credit ...... but he ultimately got another beatdown, however you slice it.
Ortiz has been ranked from 4-8 almost universally for the past few years now. How is that "grotesquely underrated"? You think hes been a top 3 HW or something? Theres a better case for him being overrated. At worst hes rated fairly. 'underrated' means you dont know what that term means
Good analyze bro. I agree with most of it. But it wasn't needed. Wilder was a protected bum, and a big KO waiting to happen.
Wilder is incapable of winning against elite fighters. But he's good enough to dominate mediocre opponents.
This. His style will always get exposed against the top fighters but he has that right hand bomb which will be enough against the mediocre ones, and will make him look like a monster when he inevitably lands it.
Then why didn't he sue Joshua like he said he would to enforce his mandatory, why did he instead jump ship from Matchroom sign with Haymon and sign to fight Wilder? Also why did Ortiz refuse $7 mill to fight AJ when Miller was popped for PED's? His excuse that his team didn't tell me what was offered was ludicrous and a blatant lie. Ortiz has a history of ducking too with the Ustinov fight which was an eliminator that he refused to fight not once but twice. Fact is Ortiz doesn't want tough fights and never has hence why he cherry picked Wilder, he modus operandi is clear, duck any threat, take low risk fights, get paid his record proves that. The Whyte eliminator wasn't even for the WBC mandatory it was for the WBC 2nd mandatory which is something the WBC made up, when have the WBC ever mandated a 2nd mandatory, answer never to my knowledge. Also even if Whyte had taken and beaten Ortiz for this made up 2nd mandatory recognition, Wilder hasn't face a mandatory since then, Fury hasn't either, so Whyte would basically be in the same position he is in now, still waiting, no title shot.
Yep and he's probably still ranked in the top 10 for many people and that's quite some feat for a boxer with no notable wins in 5 years. He's the definition of overrated based on his actual accomplishments.
Don't play stupid with me. You know damn well I wasn't referring to being rated by the official ranking system. I don't know what he was ranked nor do i care.. The man was a decent boxer but doesn't get any credit because he is a Wilder victim. His ability and skill is what is underrated.. Wise up dummy.
Boom! Wilder wasn't even the best HW in the States. It's the same for Tank. Another American hypejob with big power. As soon as he fights a live body, he's done.
Well, I think most people had Wilder as #1 or #2 in summer of 2018, behind AJ. That was just after Wilder beat Ortiz, and AJ had beat Parker to unify. I'm pretty sure there was a ton of hype around them fighting at the time.
First thing, Ortiz is/was better than Parker & Whyte. Second thing, Joshua cannot take Wilders right hand. Same goes for Whyte imo. Usyk should be #2 after beating Joshua. Wilder only lost to the best, while Joshua already lost twice. Wilder dropped the best of the division 4 times in 3 fights. Fury Usyk Wilder Joshua Whyte / Joyce That been said, I definitely don't want Deontay to retire. Would still be great to see him vs Joshua.
