I like Bobick cruising to an easy decision. Duane was an excellent amateur and a rugged but fair pro. He obviously didn’t stand up well against punchers and top opposition, but Gerald was a late-comer to boxing who is big but basic. I think Washington keeps it close for about four rounds then starts to fade but hangs in there to see the last bell.
Agreed. I actually love speculations about atypical mythical matchups between 2nd and 3rd tier fighters - which is what this is. Bobick wasn't great, not even close. But he's a level above Washington. And nine time out of ten, he'd win this.
Bobick may have been more talented but I have reservations about him winning this match regardless. His chin was too unreliable. Washington may not be the embodiment of power but he’s a very large man who can punch a bit.
