Now we seen the blueprint twice now of how to beat him will that along with the damage incurred to his mental state (and physical as well perhaps?) will other fighters also be able to do the same number on him? Or was it just a Fury only thing ? My guess is not now after seeing that every fighter will go after him...and i doubt Wilder will be ever the same again. Your thoughts ?
Its not that simple. Yeah some of his mystique is gone but it was gone for this past fight and be still dropped fury twice. And its not like fury was dropping him with bombs be was battering him and wilder was gassing. So yeah other fighters can try what fury did but they gotta be evasive enough, have a great chin and have enough offensive skills and power to get wilder out of there.
He will be avoided by certain established fighters because he has scary power still. Others will want to take him on to build up their own reputation, as he's very possibly finished now.
It'll be interesting to see what's left of Deontay Wilder after he recovers from what was a significant beating. However, if he returns to the ring at 95% of what he brought against Fury, he remains a significant danger for the vast majority of heavies out there. You can be as slick as you like (Usyk), as fit as you like (Joshua), have faster hands (Ruiz) or be granite chinned (Joyce) but if Wilder hits you clean, especially early when he's fresh, then it's odds on you're going to sleep. Perhaps Fury's greatest asset is his ability to get back up............ He is massively limited and crude. Perhaps one dimensional is fair. But that one dimension isn't as easy to nullify as people seem to think. Wilder also showed that he'd rather get sparked than simply fade to a loss. That means if he's still on his feet and firing, he's dangerous.
I question who is big enough and evasive enough to use that blueprint. Wilder gassed because he came out aggressive (and was carrying extra weight) and because he was wrestling with a 280lb behemoth. But despite Wilders increased workrate, Fury was able to get out of the way of almost everything Wilder threw at him those early rounds, until he started to fatigue. He was also able to neutralize and fatigue Wilder by wrestling with him. Im not sure anyone else in the division besides Usyk can get out of the way like that. In some ways, I really do view Fury as one of the worst possible matchups for Wilder in the last 20 years. Obviously others will be able to beat Wilder, but I dont think it will be by replicating what Fury did.
Wilder needs to go back down to 210-215 lbs. Rediscover that speed and ability to throw punches in bunches without gassing
I would take on Helinus, as it would be a almost cert win and a big ko provides confidence when you have lost a few fights.
Andy ruiz is a good fight for wilder. Ruiz doesnt press forward much, hes more of an counter puncher. This gives wilder time to set up his right hand. If he defends well on the inside against ruiz counters this is a big money fight which he can win.
