Sensible after the beating he took. Also, it's immaterial - he'd not be fighting for at least six months in order to get over his injuries and recover from a sustained beating, even if he had not been suspended...
Good move. More athletic commissions should do this. Six month ban for KO defeats to recover properly Minimum 9-12 months before they can even fight again 90 second rest times between rounds would be a good idea too
I think that is fair, he took too much. I hope he goes away, has a long rest, counts his money, looks at his family and makes a sensible decision about his future. And asks himself a few questions.. What else can he do in the sport? If he continued what are his goals? And are they realistic? Because although I'd love to see an AJ or Whyte fight at 35 years old and back to back beatings is it worth it? One thing that hasn't been really praised is Wilders chin and resilience, I remember when he was rocked by Molina and hurt badly Ortiz. Lots of people said he was chinny, would get pole axed by average fighters... I was probably one of those people. But he took a sustain beating it two fights and held up exceptionally well all things considered.
He wouldn't have fought for 6 months in any case. Few elite boxers fight twice a year, apart from Canello.
If Wilder can hurt Fury, he can hurt anyone. I think he is still easily a top 5 heavyweight. He can still fight on and entertain. And who knows, Fury might retire at any time, you never know. Fury may vacate a belt.
I've never seen a fighter given a 6 months suspension before for this reason. I've seen 1 or 3 months, but not 6. It's not something I'm used ot that's all.
It's pretty common and to be expected with his injuries. Did you realistically expect him to fight before April 2022?
He was absolutely battered and broke his hand. I think it only makes sense to take that much time off, coming back any sooner would be dangerous.

First off i support any decision by the authorities to protect boxers, however 6 month ban for ko defeats and the 9-12 month before can fight again although looking good on paper, does overlook firstly what level of ko occurred, was that unconsciousness or a boxer just failing to beat the count from perhaps a bodyshot. Secondly in my opinion i think that decisions on whether a boxer should be allowed to fight again after a ko, should 100% be with the doctors after proper and thorough neurological assessment. With regard to your suggestion of 90 second between rounds, i completely disagree, extending the corner time merely allows a fighter who has taken a beating to perhaps go back out for more damage to their braincells, that extra 30 seconds is not going to make the sport safer, brain cells do not recover in that time, the fog might clear from their eyes a little, they might appear a little steadier on legs but the real damage is there and extra 30 seconds just allows fighters to go out and get more damaged.
I think the most obvious thing to limit the amount of grievous injuries or deaths in boxing is to simply reduce the number of rounds. Amateur boxing very rarely has these kinds of occurrences and the fights tend to be fought at a higher pace too which can never be a bad thing for the fans.
