People keep talking about "Rooney Tyson" to disqualify any talk of Mike's losses. Okay. Let's pretend it is the Mike Tyson who had never lost. But he wasn't unbeatable, and who did he beat? Tyson Fury's had a dozen different trainers, some good, some bad. He's changed so many times. He ballooned up to 400 pounds. Depression, suicidal, cocaine and alcohol abuse. He's had injuries. He's been target of media campaigns against him, hated by the media. He was out for 2 1/2 years, in terrible state. The lockdown stalled his career another 18 months, and he even had covid himself. He parties after fights, he's a fat slob. He's 33 going on 43. All that **** he's gone through, that's the same stuff used as excuses for Mike Tyson and dozens of other ATGs for when they lose, on this forum, but Fury keeps winning, whether he looks good or not. I think people underrate the ability to win on an 'off night'. Fury's whole career is one long 'one night'. But he wins.
I'd favor a Tyson stoppage at this point. Fury is a winning fighter and he's not going to shut up shop to survive. Fury also has average power and nothing to overly power Tyson off him on a consistent basis. If Tyson gets him in trouble it'll be a lot harder to survive that a Wilder.
Iron mike would get inside Fury's reach, and mercilessly beat his body and work his way up. The gypsy king has a fighting heart and courage but in the end, Mike would have chopped him down like a tall tree. Fury does not have the punching power to stop Mike on the way in and he is not strong enough to keep him off of him.
I think it has something to do with the fact that Fury was willing to train despite all of the things that happened in his career. Mike, on the other hand, after firing Rooney, didn't have the motivation to do anything with the exception of partying all night every night, drinking, drugging and runnig around with whores.
Fury doesn't make it out of the 4th round. He might make things interesting early on. Inevitable collision with someone far more powerful and...well, just plain much better imo.
Fans forget what a beast a prime Mike Tyson was. Fury could not keep him go. One has to confront Tyson and that's is where he wins but he'd better get that job done by round six. Tyson is way more skilled than Wilder who floored Fury 4x. Tyson via 4th round TKO.
