Joyce again. Hrgovic needs to show me something at HW before I'd begin to consider him.

Joyce wins based off of their WSB fight and nothing I've seen from Hrgovic since convinces me it would go any different;y.

Hrgovic still has very little head movement, Joyce's heavy jab would be snapping Hrgovic's head back throughout the fight. He'll get backed up, out worked and doesn't seem to have the power to hurt Joyce as Joyce walked through all his best shots when they fought previously and didn't seem at all bothered. Joyce breaks him down and stops him in the 2nd half of the fight.

How do you know he has a better chin than Hrgović? Filip was never down or stunned in amateurs nor in pros. Chins are probably equal between the two of them.

I think Joyce would be better because of his stamina and patience for executing a gameplan.

Joyce was able to take Hrgovic's punches much better than Hrgovic was able to take Joyce's punches.

So we are basing the estimate for this fight off a fight that happened 6 years ago. When Joyce was in his prime at aged 30 and Hrgovic was still green at around aged 23.

    That doesnt stack up

Joyce is now 36 and Hrgovic is 29 and in the prime of his life. Hrgovic wins this for me by a decision.

You've got the ages wrong Joyce was 27 and Hrgovic 20, but their ages don't tell the whole story. Joyce came to boxing late and Hrgovic then was a seasoned international amateur unlike Joyce. 2013 was the year Joyce first made an impact on the international scene later that year he'd win European bronze, but when he fought Hrgovic he'd never fought at that level before.

It's been 8 years since that fight but you can see both already had the style they have now. We of course can't say this one amateur fight means Joyce definitely wins but we know from this fight Hrgovic didn't like the pace and even when landing flush he couldn't hurt Joyce at all.

As pro's Joyce clearly has made the bigger impact so far and I think evolved more as a boxer. Hrgovic still lacks head movement, he still has a style that relies on his size and reach, relies on setting up the right hand and he's so far never really been pushed to fight at anything beyond his pace and we all know Joyce sets a crazy pace.

I don't see enough changes in Hrgovic to make me think he really does any better vs a better version of Joyce. He won't be able to back Joyce up, his reliance on his size is moot vs the bigger Joyce, his power will likely be redundant vs the iron chin of Joyce, he hasn't shown he can fight at a pace anywhere near what Joyce can set. I'm sure it will be competitive much like their WSB bout but it's hard to see Hrgovic coming out on top based on what we've seen of the both of them as pros.

Hrgovic's career has been a huge disappointment. Base on recent fights, I'd say he's been regressing. His previous fight against Radonjic was pretty pathetic. He looked slow and predictable.

Joyce on the other hand got better over the years. I don't see anything from the most recent version of Hrgovic that can beat the current version of Joyce.

I'm fairly confident to say that Joyce beats Hrgovic comfortably.

Hrgović is funny, always picking against Fury. Definitely some resentment there.

Painterly Joe does a job on that slob.

No doubt that Joyce is alot further along than Hrgovic and has fought at a higher level as a professional. No one is doubting that.

Hrgovic has been managed terribly as a professional. His management team has done a terrible job in getting him big names to fight him and getting him into a possition for a title shot. Joyce is now awaiting his first title shot. Hrgovic looks years away based on current progress from a title shot despite his natural talent.

The key point here is that resumes dont win you fights.

Previous fights 8 years ago doesnt win you a fight today.

I favour Hrgovic narrowly based on his age and that I like his jab, reach and move style against Joyce's style. Although its mechanical I could see him out boxing Joyce. Who himself is very slow and innacurate but wears people down.

True resumes don't win you fights and they are not even always a good indicator of who would win the fight.

Personally I think Hrgovic has stagnated as a pro, he's really no different to the fighter he was that turned pro. Joyce for me has show improvement, he's tried to add things to his repertoire and has more variety.

His jab isn't as good or consistent as a Joyce's, he seems to prefer to use his lead hand more as a way of taking away his opponents jab and setting up the right hand. If he can take away Joyce's jab that would be some feat. He tends to paw with it to gauge range and extends it between his opponents guard to obscure his opponents vision to land the right. Joyce's jab to me is heavier has more variety as he throws it to the head and body and he just throws it a lot more.

He has a bad habit of just leaning back to avoid shots, that saw him caught vs Joyce when they fought and it will see him caught again.

His movement I think has actually gotten worse. He used to move laterally more, we saw that when he did fight Joyce, he did a good job of stepping to the side after jabbing and keeping Joyce in the centre but these days he just seems to back up in straight lines. Maybe he's simply fighting down to his opponents level and isn't needing to move laterally but he just seems to stand right in front of guys now. The lack of quality opposition may have seen him regress.

I think Joyce beats him comfortably via UD. Hrgovic is super poor skill-wise. He's getting overrated massively. Not sure why tho. I watched almost all of his pro fights since he turned pro as i was a believer but i gave up on him. He has shown NO improvements, looked fat in his last fight and out of shape and i just don't see him getting those fights which would answer some questions about him. I don't care if nobody wants to fight him, at least give him some guys who can hold his own and give him some rounds. He has done nothing in the pros and didn't even look good while doing that lol. Joyce on the other side has some good Ws like Jennings, Dubois or Takam and he actually looked pretty damn good. Good chin, good gas tank, nonstop pressure, awkward style/angles, solid jab and work rate. Joyce is a tough test for everyone outside the Top 2 (Fury/Usyk).
