Fury (Until proven otherwise) Oleksander Usyk AJ Dillian Whyte Deontay Wilder Pretty boring list i know lol but i just feel thats how it is right now. You could very much debate the 4th or 5th spot for guys like: Filip Hrgovic Joe Joyce Tony Yoka Derek Chisora Andy Ruiz Jr. Or even other names there. The division is pretty cool right now i feel.
My updated humble list: 1. Champ: Fury (obviously) 2. Usyk (undisputed CW champ, unified HW champ no loss) 3. Joshua (former unified champ, 2 losses) 4/5. Joyce (steady progress, undefeated) 5/4. Hunter (top level, 1 loss to 2nd best HW) I can put Hunter or Joyce at 4/5 interchangeably, I don't think anyone in the lower top 10 can beat either at this point.
Chisora has lost 3 of his last 6 fights and the wins were against Gashi (who had just lost to Tom Schwarz before he fought Fury), David Price and Spzilka (beaten by Wilder). As you constantly remind us how bad Fury and Wilder's resumes are, Chisora's 'Indian Summer' consists of wins over someone one of Fury's 'cherry picked' opponents had just beat, and someone who Wilder knocked out.
Based on what i have seen the last few months it's IMO pretty clear: 1. Fury 2. Usyk 3. Wilder (all power but you have to give him that) 4. Joyce 5. Joshua I think Joshua has to make major improvements as you have now two massive blueprints how to beat AJ...and he also lost to different type of fighters. I mean Usyk is world class but still...AJ was useless, proved his footwork is abysmal and he has no idea how to deal with a slick and effective boxer who can move. I honestly think Joyce beats him as well RIGHT NOW. AJ still can improve but i doubt it.
I think the first three are relatively easy to mark out. My top 5 is same as Ring Magazine: Fury Usyk Joshua Wilder Whyte Fury has the overseas wins against Wlad and Wilder. He was definitively number one from the second Wilder fight once he showed that the skills were now united with power / Kronk aggression and he had multiple ways to get the win. Usyk answered the questions about his ability at the weight in London and Joshua would need a superb performance / KO win to get to 2nd but cannot get to first now without facing Fury. Then it gets more difficult. Wilder's last performance and question marks over Whyte post Povetkin one maybe gets him to 4th with Dillian having a strong argument on resume to actually be ranked above him and after that I have real difficulty separating them because no-one ever fights anyone in this division because the risks are too high. It's some form of combination of Joyce, Ruiz Jr, Ortiz, Hunter and ?. Rivas makes their list, but I think there's 3 or 4 could slot in there.
I don't claim that Chisora is one of the top fighter as some do with Wilder and there resumes are to similar standard.
It's crazy to think that four of The Ring Magazine's top 10 ranked HWs emanate from the tiny island of Great Britain with its minuscule population and that all but one of the fighters in the top 10 have fought on British soil as pros Fury Usyk AJ Whyte Parker Hunter Rivas Joyce And even The Tuscaloser has fought over here too The only one who hasn't is Fat Andy who chickened out of facing AJ over here after AJ fought him on his soil in the first fight The UK really is truly the epicenter of the sport's glamour division FTR, Usyk has beaten three fighters ranked in the top 10 in AJ, Hunter and Joyce (WSB) AJ has also beaten three in Whyte, Parker and Fat Andy Fury has beaten one x 2 (it should be 3) in Bum Dosser albeit he beat Hunter in the ams Bum Dosser has beaten one in Oritz Whyte has beaten two albeit he beat AJ in the amateurs Parker has beaten one in Fat Andy Ortiz hasn't beaten anyone in the top 10
1. Fury 2. Usyk 3= Joshua / Windmill 5. Joyce Can't separate Joshua and Windmill at the moment. Both powerful and dangerous but highly vulnerable. If they fought its a 50:50. I put Joyce ahead of Whyte cos I think Joyce would win relatively comfortably if they fought.
