    Heavyweight boxer Tua's next fight

    18/07/2008 14:52:18

Promoter Cedric Kushner will soon be able to confirm heavyweight boxer David Tua's next fight against unbeaten American Chris Arreola.

Kushner says he has been negotiating with Arreola's promoter Dan Goosen over the past couple of weeks and should be able to nail the deal when Goosen returns to the States this weekend.

Kushner says he will speak with Goosen tomorrow so in the next few days they should have something specific.

He says they are aiming for the fight to be on October 18.

I think this is a stupid fight for Arreola. He is made to order for Tua. He is the type of fighter that will stand right there and trade, and guess who hits harder (TUA) and guess who is getting knocked the **** out. Hint: Arreola.

I can't believe they have matched up Arreola with David Tua.

David Tua hits harder, and has a chin made out of iron.

One thing is for sure - if Arreola wins this fight, he is a major player at Heavyweight.

If Tua wins, Arreola is not worth the hype. If Arreola wins, Tua doesn't have it anymore, and should retire.

Should be an exciting fight. Bad match up for Arreola. But the winner supposedly gets Peter. It should be at the Staples Center, according to the contract.

I like the sound of all of that.

Goosen must have considered all these factors, I guess.

Derrick, didn't you say Tua could beat Wlad earlier? And he's over his head in this one? Get real.

Bad fight for Areola. He needs to schedule Boxers, not punchers.

As has been said. Bad fight for Arreola. He isn't going to outslug David Tua. And he sure as **** isn't going to knock David Tua out. All thats left is for him is to outbox Tua and keep away for 12 rounds and Arreola is not a boxer. Not sure how good his chin is, haven't seen much of him. But if he tries to trade and slug it out with Tua he better have a chin of Ibeabuchi-like proportions. Otherwise, good night.

Forgot to add that, while an unnecessary risk for him to take, I'm glad he is going to take it. Might turn into one hell of a fight.

Arreola will outwork the old Tua. There's always a chance Tua could catch him with a hook, but the likelihood here is that Arreola simply wins rounds through workrate. Tua hasn't had a quality win in years.
