I think I may be crossing wires or missing something but I don't think what you are saying in page 2 applies to what I said. I will reclarify, I meant Floyd is the best fighter we have had in more modern times there are much better guys then him I don't do top 100 P4P lists never tried but I imagine Mayweather Jnr being in the 40-60 range without really thinking about it.
We can try this one more time ...You just said this again ^^^^^.. and I fully understand the statement .. Again , my post on page 2 , # 21, specifically addresses it
For the guys who are mad, I said he dominated ODH, I'm sorry. I literally meant defeated, somehow mymind just typed something else
If it makes you feel any better. I am in the minority group with you ,,, I have watched and scored the fight many times .. I see no case for ODLH ... but I wouldn't use the word dominated at all
I have no problem with your ranking it just seems people have a problem with him top ten. Which is fine
This ia actually a great question for Floyd and many others in the last 20 years. This also pertains to the boxers of the future. With so many "world" titles available boxers have been so willing to give up their title belt to move up in weight. That problem is a separate issue but one of the facts that comes out of it is that boxers often don't stay in divisions long enough to earn the right to be top ten in a weight class. For instance, Manny Pacquiao may be a top ten or twenty fighter all-time but based on lifetime accomplishments in a particular weight class I am not sure he is top ten in any of them. Relating to Mayweather, I would say he is top ten at junior lightweight but that's it.
YouTube comment sections that way... Honestly surely no one seriously with an actual mind for the sport considers Floyd Mayweather jnr the GOAT seems like something people spend time complaining on that never happens.
What hurts Floyd is the cherry picking he did. Also the fact that many of his fights were snooze fests doesn't help. He was definitely a very skilled fighter and by no means a bum as some like to say. I wouldn't have him in top 25 p4p but he definitely made a mark and a whole ton of $$$$.
