Huh? So Fury-Whyte as an eliminator to fight Wilder? Think you're getting confused about Wilder's place in the hierarchy now. Wilder's down the pecking order and needs to earn his shot. Let's see him beat some live bodies first - actual contenders rather than the "contenders" he fought as champion. He needs to let the Fury thing go...
Wilder should take on ruiz in the spring, and hopefully get the win, then take on the loser of the usyk-joshua fight in the fall, while Fury takes on the winner for all the belts, also in the fall. There would probably be a rematch clause for that unification bout, so Fury would probably be tied up in spring 2023 with that rematch. So Wilder would probably need another win in the meantime, and then maybe, just MAYBE, if Wilder were to win all these fights, he gets one last shot at Fury in the fall of 2023, assuming Fury is interested or even still fighting. But I'd guess no to both. By that time, assuming he wins, Fury would have all the belts and plenty of money, so why bother risking it all on a person he's already beaten twice, instead of just riding off into the sunset as an undefeated, undisputed champ.
A 4th fight against Fury don't really makes sense. He should go for some interesting top 15 fighters he can win.
Wilder should fight bodybuilder first. If he KOs bodybuilder, he can deserve the fourth fight. Otherwise, gtfoh Wilder! Leave my man alone.
enough already. I would like to hear Fury say "no." "No, I don't have enough respect to fight you again." on another issue....this reminds me of something that happened when I was a kid. I grew up in state institutions for 10 years. During that time there was a lot of fights that occurred. No one liked being there and the adults that were over us were useless evil cretins. so....**** rolls down hill. Therefore...lots of fights all the time. There was a street that rolled past the front of this place. Several buildings faced it and between the buildings and the street was a large expanse of grass. I can clearly remember times when there would be three circles of kids...of various ages...and within each circle there would be a fight going on. The matrons of the buildings would be standing amongst the throng of children ...watching the fights. It was entertainment for them. There was this one kid....Pete. A freckled faced kid about 12 years old. He loved to fight and he was damned good at it. Probably the only thing he was ever good at in his entire life. He could fight all day and never get tired. One of the things I remember about him was the calmness that he maintained when he fought.. Never lost his cool. Had nerves of ice. He would smile as he beat his opponents into a bloody mess. He would start fights just for fun. I never understood it but he liked me..and I was glad of it as it meant I never had to fight him. One of my friends was named Danny. He had been in state institutions since he was 5. Danny was one of Pete's favorite victims. Probably because Danny was tough and would not quit and this allowed Pete to beat on him for a longer period of time. Try as hard as he might, Danny would always lose. Pete would skillfully avoid Danny's punches by moving his head or body just enough to cause Danny's punches to sail on by through empty space. I saw times when Pete would stand up and say..."where is Danny, I think I'll go beat him up again." This went on for a couple of years. One Saturday afternoon Pete was bored so he made the announcement of his intentions to pummel Danny once again. I had watched Danny's hatred build for a long time.It had reached a point that his hatred for Pete consumed him. I stayed in my room as I didn't want to see yet another senseless beating. I could hear the cheers of the other boys which meant only one thing. Pete had found Danny. After about 15 minutes I got up and walked to the window across the hall to watch in spite of my earlier disgust. It was like watching a bad movie you hated and swore you would never watch again but found yourself watching out of boredom. Pete would punch and Danny's head would snap back and a spot would swell or blood would flow from a cut. Pete was smiling the whole time. As I watched I would grimace with each thudding blow and want it to stop. Out of nowhere Danny landed a good straight right to Pete's chin. Pete stumbled for a moment..a quick moment..and then regained both his balance and composure. Pete continued unabated with his assault. this was the best punch I had ever seen landed on Pete. Back to the usual pattern. Danny's head again became a speed bag receiving punches. bam bam bam. Then a left uppercut sliced through the air and knocked Pete down. Danny's hands went down to his side still clenched as he screamed "get up you mother****er, I got some more for you, get up." I truly thought for a moment I was dreaming...nothing like this had ever happened. Pete got up slowly...weakly...and as he stood upright he stumbled. Danny closed in quickly and rained punches on Pete's head and then to his body. Pete fell down in wasted heap....it was obvious it was over. Yet...it wasn't over. Danny jumped on him and pinned each shoulder with a knee. Then he raised his right fist and screamed "this is for when you..." then the left was raised..."this is for when you" to the end of each announcement he would add some insult or beating that Pete had done, then the crushing avenging fist would fall. This went on for a while. Finally Danny's anger was spent and he got up. He turned and walked back into the building. the fickle crowd turned and followed their new hero. Danny never had to fight Pete again. Pete had beaten Danny to a bloody pulp more than a dozen times. Danny only had to beat him once. He stayed beaten and never came back for seconds. Danny fought golden gloves until he graduated high school. His knock out record was extremely high. The local newspapers called him " the Nashville mauler." It is Wilder's desire to continue fighting that reminded me of this old story. However, unlike the above story...Wilder will continue to lose.
Yes, we all saw the improvements and i posted on the fight thread after the first round. But as soon as Wilder was hit, he started backpedalling and went full ret*Rd again. Sometimes one' s gotta know when to give up buddy. Fury got Wilder's number...
A fourth bout should only happen if circumstances force it, something like undisputed title on the line. That's highly unlikely given their age, among other things.
Fury has beaten Wilder. 3 times. Let that sink in. Even if you accommodate the pedants and accept the corrupt draw - it's 2 nil Fury. I don't. Nobody should - we can watch the video of the fight, and count the rounds. They were clear, indisputable rounds. Wilder v Fury is finished.
