I don't think they would but Liston, Frazier and Foreman could all possibly beat him. Frazier af his FOTC determined best would have the greatest chance. Louis would have to work really hard to keep Joe off of him.

That was my answer before it was pointed out to me that I can't read. As far as Ali challengers beating Louis, only Liston could do it but he wouldn't do it.

I don’t think Jimmy Young is the answer. Ali never had to lead and it showed against Jimmy. Joe lead all the time.
Frazier would be my pick because Joe struggled with crouches (Schmeling, Godoy, Marciano)

1971 Joe Frazier and 1974 Foreman beat Louis, but they were champs when Ali challenged them, so I guess they don't count.

But the 1974 Frazier does count. He has a good chance. So do Lyle and Young.

    Didn't you read the man's question ?!????
Foreman was the champ, not the challenger, so he doesn't count.

Obviously in their form when they faced Ali.

FOTC Frazier was not a challenger when he faced Ali. Neither was Foreman.
Don't you people read the man's question ?!????

Foreman obliterates Louis. Although in this instance he doesn't count, cause he wasn't a challenger when he faced Ali.

Louis would have to lose to Frazier, in order for him to be the challenger, and Foreman to be the champion.

This is not a scenario that I am assuming.

: "Is there anyone that challenged Ali for his title, whilst he was champ, that could possibly upset Louis ?"

The man was asking who of the boxers that challenged Ali, while Ali was champ, could beat Louis (at his best obviously).
That means we are talking about the versions of Frazier that challenged Ali, meaning 75 Frazier, 75 Lyle, 76 Norton, 78 Young etc.

    No. It's not asking that.
Could any of the men that challenged Ali, from Liston 2 right thru to Spinks 1,have a shot at beating Louis.

I wouldn't bet on any of Ali's challengers to beat a prime Joe Louis. As a Boxer-Puncher (Adaptable), in some cases, Joe has to show up in the right style. And Louis, at an advanced age, or with inactivity, could pick up some losses, just as Ali did.

Joe might not survive Patterson`s hooks.

Joe was sharper and more aggresive than Jimmy, plus Jimmy`s body was soft compared to Walcott`s, steroids? Jimmy looked puny while fighting Foreman despite flooring him.
