As a 6 year old, with my Dad, I saw my first live fight in 1930, Jersey Joe Walcott vs. Cowboy Wallace. I've seen literally hundreds of fights live since. I've also seen fights on film (8 and Super 8, and have quite a collection of those), and in videos (on and off of You Tube), as well as in the movies and on television. I've also read countless books on the subject of boxing, old and new. I don't even pretend to be able to pick winners of fights 100% of the time. 70% seems to be my ceiling, which I think is pretty good. It seems to me that you indicate that you can see the winners 100% of the time, and from "vids" alone. If what you represent is true, I assume that's how you make your money. And you must have acquired great wealth by now. Congratulations on your great boxing knowledge and successes! Perhaps you would be so kind as to share some of your "vid" related predictions with us, so we could be assured of victory in a few fights to come. With the wealth you have surely accumulated by now, I'm sure you can afford to be forthcoming with us. How about the following upcoming fights? 10/30/21: Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin (Heavyweight). 11/06/21: Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant (Super-Middleweight Unification Title). 11/19/21: Demetrius Andrade vs Jason Quigley (WBO Middleweight Title). 11/19/21: Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs Ronny Rios (WBA & IBF Super-Bantamweight Titles). 11/19/21: Julio Cesar Martinez vs McWilliams Arroyo (WBC Flyweight Title). 11/20/21: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter (WBO Welterweight Title). 12/18/21: Stephen Fulton vs Brandon Figueroa (WBC and WBO Super-Bantamweight Titles). 12/18/21: Joseph Parker vs Derek Chisora II (Heavyweight). 12/18/21: Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr (WBA, WBC ‘Franchise’, IBF and WBO Lightweight Titles). For 2022: Olesandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua, The Rematch. (Multiple Heavyweight Titles). When you make your predictions, I'll be sure to bump this thread up occasionally, so we can look on in awe at the accuracy of your picks. Thanks in advance for sharing your great boxing knowledge with us poor, unenlightened souls. (If you can get even 9 out of 10 of them correct, you'll make a believer out of me.)
His secret was his longevity. I don't see him very high level as H2H ability. Ali = Resume Louis = Longevity Fury = H2H
I argee louis is overrated h2h and I dont know why all the people he fought wouldnt give 70s-90s tough matches or beat them
I'd like to know your predictions too - 70% is very good Imo Louis is overrated H2H, but it's difficult to compare boxers of different eras in this way; he destroyed his own era thoroughly and is deservedly #2 on most people's lists.
I'm very willing to go head to head with MoneyTheMan12 on predictions of some upcoming fights. And he can pick the 10 fights. Maybe he really can call them 100% of the time. If he can, I'd certainly reevaluate his thinking and posts in "Classic Boxing" head to head match ups. Right now I think he's wrong that "vids" are the end all in calling winners.
About right. He gets a bit overrated because people forget that Walcott beat him the first time, some of his defenses were indeed against bums, and because good black fighters were still having trouble getting shots at the championship in those days. He gets underrated because he spent prime years in the army knocking out guys like Nino Valdez in exhibitions that easily could have been counted as defenses, and because his second run was actually really good before Marciano stopped him. Tends to even out, and really, the guy is just an American hero with 25 defenses.
My predictions: 10/30/21: Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin (Heavyweight). - Wallin SD/UD 11/06/21: Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant (Super-Middleweight Unification Title). - Alvarez KO 11/19/21: Demetrius Andrade vs Jason Quigley (WBO Middleweight Title). - Andrade KO 11/19/21: Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs Ronny Rios (WBA & IBF Super-Bantamweight Titles). - ??? 11/19/21: Julio Cesar Martinez vs McWilliams Arroyo (WBC Flyweight Title). - ??? 11/20/21: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter (WBO Welterweight Title). - Crawford KO 12/18/21: Stephen Fulton vs Brandon Figueroa (WBC and WBO Super-Bantamweight Titles). Figueroa UD 12/18/21: Joseph Parker vs Derek Chisora II (Heavyweight). - Parker UD 12/18/21: Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr (WBA, WBC ‘Franchise’, IBF and WBO Lightweight Titles). - Lopez KO For 2022: Olesandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua, The Rematch. (Multiple Heavyweight Titles). - Usyk UD Not that I know **** about boxing
F*ck off.. Shawn Porter isn't glass chin Khan and glass orbital Brook. He threw Spence to the hell. He is more agressive fighter than all of them. Crawford gonna win by UD.
Joe Louis was a great champion and a dominant champion of his era. He came along at a time when an older style of boxing was on its way out and the more modern way was moving in more. He has the most dominance of any heavyweight champ of there era.
In terms of ranking no, but the fact that some people say he would beat Fury, Lewis and the Klitschkos shows that he is ridiculously overrated h2h
