Who were the the greater fighters pound-for-pound between Ali, Tyson, and Roy Jones Jr.?

What is the obsession with pound for pound comparisons with every fighter? Now we’re comparing similar weight heavyweights pound for pound as well? Just what’s the point of comparing Ali and Tyson pound for pound? They weren’t that far off in weight at their best.Tyson heavier and Ali taller with longer reach. Just match them as they really were. Forget pound for pound comparisons

You are absolutely right. Ali isn't beating Tyson. Of course, Ali is dead so he would probably lose a close decision. Otherwise, he beats Tyson 9 out of 10 times.

 

I love how White Bomber is so confident about hypothetical fight that never happened and that his whole argumentation is based around it.

Tyson is certainly the last one here, this is about actual career and not some imaginary accomplishements.

 

Tyson is not even in the conversation in any reasonable way of ranking - i e what they actually did in the ring. In terms of greatness, not being prepared is never a valid excuse. Being prepared is a big part of greatness.

Between Ali and Roy it's closer. Roy was even more dominant in his prime and had a longer period of dominance. Of course Ali being exiled for 3,5 years probably had something to do with it. I think you can argue either way, but Ali's success past his shortened prime has him edging it for me.
