This reminds me, my friend, of a story I heard once. A man makes a bet with another that he is able to race around the world in his horse against a man who is having a high flying plane. The man with the high flying plane is enthused and he is giddy and he is so happy-faced that he bets everything he took from his wealthy father on this bet because how can a man with a horse do this to him he says and he thinks. He says to himself that this is no way that this can be done. So, they take off at the begin where the race starts to be won. The man in the high flying plane has secured his victory in his own mind, that they would extend this to three times around the world. So the man with his horse takes off as well, at a gallop. The high flying plane goes ZOOOOOM up into the air and it is a plane, it is high, and it is flying. The horse man gallops but in no straight line? No! They say that the shortest distance between two true points is a straight line. But why? He gallops to his left, and circles back toward his wife, his son, his mother, his daughter, his feline, and his goat. He drive rides his horse around and around, three times, in a row, around his people. All of them. The son, the mother, the wife, the feline, the goat, and the daughter. Three times. In a row. He declares himself the victor and he goes home. But why? The small town of Chingatumadre Buffalo Jump is crazed, craven, perplexed, bewildered, bewitched, betwitched, and bebothered.

The plane man pilot takes what might as well be eons to go on and on around the world, and it takes eighty-one days. He finally comes home, to see the man with the horse going on about his business about town. And to find him there does not bother him because he makes assumption that this man QUIT-surely-when he realized that he would lose his prized goat and daughter to the plane pilot anyway. Pilot man put his money against this as the bet which I forget to mention about earlier at the beginning of the first paragraph. So then, he finds that through the townspeoples' murmurs, whispers and gossip that YES the horse man had declared himself the victor after he galloped around his families. But WHY? He confronts the man...who says "You went around your world I guess, but I only went around mine." That meant that his families were his world, but not the rich man. Anyway, the rich man ordered the sheriff to hang him and which he did so and then he took his goat and daughter as his own as per the original verbal agreement. The girl later choked on a turnip which had been overly fried in lard fat in a cast iron skillet and died. Before any children could be borned. So, this reminds of the moral of the story, Surrix. You can legally beat a family man in a race, but all you'll win will never bear you children.

Usyk is much higher.

Ward was a mediocre but very privileged boxer would have actually had little success without his dirty tactics, dishonest referees and despicable judges.

Ward is not an ATG, but Usyk definitely is.

- Ward refused to fight away from the USA in the Super Six
- Ward's Olympic medal win was a robbery (watch the fight)
- Ward used dirty, illegal tactics (deliberate head butts) and a dodgy referee against Kessler
- Kovalev was ROBBED in their first fight, and Ward punched him in the scrotum for the TKO in the second

Usyk…. Ward was a dirty fighter who at times showed brilliance but never lived up to his full potential.

It's close to me. If I had to pick I would pick Ward. What Usyk did is great, but he hasn't really beaten the man in the HW division. If he beats Fury (which I don't think he will), then I would choose him over Ward.

Ward too didn't had did this one.
At 175 lbs he had win vs Kovalev and after this had retired when they offered him to fight vs then prime shape Beterbiev version @ 175 lbs.
Ward was 33? y.o.
That's it. He didn't had boxed nor vs Bet nor vs Gvozdyk @ 1 7 5 lbs.

Amateur accomplishments historically Usyk too had more: he is Olympic Gold medalist and World Championship Gold and Bronze medalist.

In order to get all belts in CW Usyk had won vs 3 then undefeated champions, oldest from these champions was then 33 y.o Briedis.
Usyk afer this had successful his undisputed status defense on foreign soil in U.K.
Usyk in CW was 7-0 in World title fights, all fights on foreign soil.

Ward was very good boxer but Usyk's resumes, both am and pro are already beautiful even if he never had fought after fight vs Bellew.

Usyk, I don't care about Ward and his nut shots (that's an unfortunate couple of words "nut shot", sounds like a very aggressive happy ending)..

In every way. More punches landed, scored the knockdown...

Classic example of how they **** up the sport with screw job decision. If they would have given Kovalev the victory he deserved, then they would have had the rematch,Ward might have won, they could have had the rubber match, and both would be remembered as very legit greats for the rivalry.

Instead, Ward is sort of a truncated great that leaves a bad taste in a lot of mouths.

Usyks has 19 fights.. Never won a controversial one, never knocked down and did it all on the road… put clinics on the likes of Gassiev & Joshua.. Ward was excellent too but he was very dirty & he was VERY fortunate to get that first win over Kovalev… struggled with Boone, Bika too etc.. Kessler win is tainted too.. overall Usyks impressed me more.
