Could Jimmy Young have beaten Muhammad Ali in a rematch?

    I dont think the head thru the ropes would have caused such outrage had Ali bested Young (without the help of the judges)

    The real outrage is the fact that Jimmy won round after round and Ali could do nothing about it.

    This was similar to the bout between Pernel and Chavez in which Julio could not solve Pernel's style.

    Pernel could score, but Julio would rarely land and the judges saved him with a draw

    Yes. Young took everything away from Ali and would do so again. There was no way that Muhammad would ever fight Young again after that embarrassment and he did not.

    There wasn't exactly a huge public demand for a rematch was there.
