Yes the way he celebrated after his win over Campbell was way over the top.

Someone at Ringtv said something that stuck with me about this kid.. He said Ryan Garcia really wants to be Jake Paul in a sense of he cares more about the social media and entertainment aspect than the grind of boxing.. He believes he should be fighting in front of an audience of at least 15,000+ with all the social media personalities in attendance and selling 500k+ PPVs..

You brought up that he pulled out for mental reasons last year. No one sympathized for him because everyone predicted he would pull out of the Fortuna fight and at the moment he says he suffering mentally he’s posting selfie’s with his girlfriend at the beach..

He doesn’t love boxing and that’s why everyone always question anything he does.

I'm just glad it wasn't another fighter pulling out of a fight claiming COVID.

No, he appears to have a legit injury requiring surgery. If that is true (hard to fake surgery, especially if he has a scar) he did the right thing by pulling out. I’m not a fan of his immaturity and the ridiculous things he says in interviews but he’s young. Still fought Campbell and knocked him out. Better victory than any on Haney’s record or Tank’s record. Once these guys get back to form, we have some great matchups at 135 as long as they all stay there. I’m starting to tire of the drama that seems to surround Ryan but he’s still very young and deserves some slack. Guys like Tank who has been a pro for much longer are another matter. He’s still fighting bums far above his natural weight. His next fight is another prime example. Hasn’t fought a legit opponent since Pedrazza a long time ago.

If Ryan falls into this type of cherry picking rut, like Davis I’ll call him on it. I don’t think he will. He just needs to get that hand/wrist rehabilitated, deal with his personal issues and get back on track. He’s young enough to do it quickly.
