Wlad has a lot in common with Joshua. I think he would do similar. Thats probably why those two had such an epic match. Because they are equally matched.
The Wlad who fought Joshua was hardly the prime version; it was the 41 year old version who couldn't pull the trigger when he had Joshua hurt and land those two or three shots that would've won him the fight.
Well yeah and Joshua won. If it had been a younger Wlad he might have won. But I think the fight itself would have been much the same.
They're about to storm in here telling you that Vlad was "really up for it" against AJ which negated his shotness. Vlad was "the most motivated he'd been in years" and was actually basically prime, and certainly MUCH better than when he faced Fury. They're coming.
Wilder has hurt every opponent he did fight. It stands to reason he would hurt Wlad if they did fight as well. Only Fury has been able to overcome being knocked down by Wilder. Wlad got stopped several times. And dropped. He also had a tendency to panic when hurt. I am not so sure Wlad would be able to hang in there when Wilder got him hurt.
It's not that he couldn't pull the trigger. It's that he can't adapt mid fight. Never could. He was awesome at fighting his plan, but never was able to make the little mid fight adjustments. Against AJ, he kept throwing that same left hook... and it kept missing. If he had a better ring IQ, he would have altered the angle a bit and knocked AJ out. I agree he was not prime though. No one is prime in their 40's.
True. But Wilder, in his own words TO THIS DAY, has never faced an elite puncher like Wlad. I could imagine Wlad takes Wilder out in 2-3 rounds. He will be the one who connects first with his deadly left or right, simply because he has the better boxing skills to land his shots. Of course if Wilder connects first Wlad would be in big trouble, but i stick to the fact Wilder looks not like he has either a world class chin or world class punch resistance. Fury is no mega puncher, and any time he hit Wilder the guy got glass eyes and was hurt. He would most probably not survive 1-2 shots from Wlad.
The way you describe how you envision Wlad winning sounds much like a lucky punch. Fury hit Wilder ALOT in the past 2 fights and Wilder keeps getting up. And keeps fighting keeps being dangerous. I don’t think chin, punch resistance, and heart are really problems on Wilders part. I think anyone would go down from that beating Wilder received. I don’t think that many people would keep getting up though. Questionable chin, punch resistance, and heart are the knocks on Wlad that kept following him around during his career.
I would bet with you much money some guys like Chuvalo, McCall, Mercer, but also guys like Valuev or Vitali, would most probably not go down. You overrate Furys punch power a lot. Yes he hits harder as 5-10 years before, but not comparation to real heavy hitters like Lewis, Wlad, Foreman, Tyson, etc. Look how Lennox hit Mercer and McCall, both took anything without going down. Wilder is not even close to have that kind of punch resistance and chin like them. And never forgot what Wlad did to Wilder when they sparred. Whyte was there and saw how Wlad beat the crap out of Wilder, knocking him out cold. Wilder would always remember that! And you can see how much Shelly Finkel avoided Wlad with all costs 2015-2017. He knew Deontay would 90% certain loose to Wlad.
No. This content is protected No panic in this one either, and finished strong: This content is protected
I was not talking about Fury’s power I was talking about Wlads punch resistance. It’s funny that the first thing you try to attack is Wilders punch resistance after he did hang in there in a war. Chin, punch resistance, and heart are Wlad flaws. It’s well established. There is some sparring story…..and then there is footage Wlad being knocked stopped on 4 different occasions by lesser fighters then Fury.
