NO If Wallin wins they are going to have a rematch, which means Fury will be free to hold the division for another year and half at least. Fury needs to fight Whyte next.
Should be a good one. I prefer the boxer over the puncher in this one as in most fights. Hope the the referee is fair and firm. The things Whyte got away with vs Parker, was a disgrace, and even more disgraceful was hearing Carl Froch commending Whyte for his foul tactics. If Wallin wins= Rematch, Fury probably has a stay busy fight against some bum. Fury will probably be demotivated and out of shape but gets the win, causing him to get comfortable going into fights out of shape, setting up banana skins for himself down the road.
Whyte needs to win otherwise he won't get his world title shot. For me this is a fight that could go either way and a victory for either will make a big statement.
There should be an overflow of competitive energy in that O2 Arena ring — Wallin is a very ambitious guy and doesn't respect names, while Whyte fancies himself as a top boy and has a big chip on his shoulder about it. I'm really looking forward to this one.
I feel people are so high on Wallin because that makes Fury look better. "No no no! See, he has beaten three or four good fighters!" While Whyte is nothing special at all, he should be a clear favorite over Wallin. I will be rooting badly for Wallin to win, however.
I see this as a 50/50 matchup. The rematch clause is unfortunate, if Wallin wins the fight needs to be repeated which slows down matchups in the division. Hearn is going out of his way to protect Whyte and wipe his ass.
Wallin indeed has a good shot in beating the crap out of Whyte. Whyte is terrible. Knocked down by Rivas, Parker and knocked unconscious by a 40yo Povetkin. If Wallin can land flush on that chin Whyte is going to sleep again.
I usually root against Whyte because I can't stand him but part of me wants him to get the Fury fight so Fury can not only embarrass him in the ring but in the build up to the fight as well.
