Whyte has beaten better (though nothing at top level, obviously) opposition and he is at least more entertaining than Pudding Pulev whatever way you look at him. The Bulgarian Tong Po doesn't only lack the bald ponytail but he lacks entertainment too. He's seriously crap!
I just saw Kugan's interview with Eddie Hearn on IFL and Matchroom has another great boxing card in December.
It was an attempt to be funny on my part. Eddie Hearn came up with his usual song about the boxing show in December which will soon be announced is one of his best etc.
Shanny's revenge must be a cert on that card - her millions of MTK Global fans await the news from Earn along with confirmation that Terry O'Connor will be the ref this time.
Whyte's record is not great, but he was not touted to be some mythically high-level technical boxer with "best jab in boxing". He's basically a brawler who seems to like fighting. I am a fan of Whyte, because I do find him enjoyable to watch. There is absolutely heehaw enjoyable about Pulev. He's the worst thing - boring.
A mid 30's novice? If he's not ready yet who do you suppose he fights to prepare him? Have a wor Refunding you when they're no longer selling what you bought is hardly praise worthy mate. Frank Smith (whose opinion is whatever Eddie tells him it is) summed up Matchrooms attitude perfectly when interviewed in America last weekend, he was asked about the (perfectly justified) uproar about the galahad v martinez "fight", he reckoned fans would moan, " but they'll tune in anyway" that sentence said it all for me.
As a Whyte fan, I am always bemused by his "I am still learning, I still have a lot to learn" spiel. Granted, he may still be learning, but in the context of making excuses for performances against relatively crap opposition or talking up his future chances when he has "learned enough" is just stupid. By the time he finishes learning enough, he will be on the decline in other aspects. The time is now, and has been for a couple of years. The waiting for a shot on WBC has become an absolute joke when he has turned down chances multiple times now. Wallin should insist on Whyte being examined by an independent doctor of their choice. This is exactly something Whyte would have been moaning about back in the days when he was the B-side. Good interview that with the SecondsOut guy.
Frank isn't as smart as Eddie to be able to keep up the charade all the time, so his true opinion slips out every now and again. He's an absolute whopper of a guy, that has ripped off Eddie's persona because he was too hopeless to become his own man.
