Inoue is not that dude. Not buying it. Hes overhyped. Not saying hes not a top fighter. But he is clearly a step below Donaire. His power doesnt translate to the elite level. And let's give a fair assessment, a prime Donaire would have drowned Inoue. The hardcores keep hyping this guy up and I dont buy it. Hes a good fighter, but you guys take it overboard. I think hes a similar level to Johnny Tapia.
Donaire has revealed himself to be a compete bell end, I cant see past that vid he an the wife posted. Pair of nobs
Inoue simply had a strong and amazing boxing match with a veteran, I don't see how you could judge a whole mans career off a tough fight from 4 years ago.
"Just rewatched" when you see this key word, understand that the thread was created by an idiot or a troll.
Inoue needs some more big scalps imo, but the Donaire fight went the way it went due to a matchup thing, both are counterpunchers who operate in a very similar range and hold their ground to make the opponent pay. The thing was Inoue tried to probe Donaire early to counter not understanding the prowess of Donaire's left hook and paid with one of his eyes sockets, to have fought after that was really commendable. One more thing, Donaire is one of the most one-dimensional counterpunchers ever relying on that left hook to solve all his problems but his timing with it is impeccable especially when you're operating in his favored range, just look what happened to Oubaali for stepping in with his shots too early.
If Inoue was struggling with grandpa Donaires counters then a prime Marquez would beat the brakes off him.
It was less than 2 years ago. And to me this fight is important in my own personal judgement of Inoue because it was his first (and only) high level opponent.
Cuz Donaire and Marquez got the same style right? And was he even in the same weightclass as Inoue? Please get your facts right before trolling.
What? Inoue should have gotten a ko instead of the kd. Donaire was still on one knee when the ref counted 10, not to mention the ref blocking Inoue from following up. Something that should be fresh in your mind having just rewatched.
Only man to beat Donaire at 118, who's now 11-1, 7KO's and the current WBC champion at the weight. Did it decisively almost stopping him, at the very strong 118 WBSS tournament final. in his 3rd weightclass, having been the actual #1 in all 3 of them. Not just your run of the mill 3 weight beltholder but the man at the weight. Only fighter who was on his feet for the entire fight against him was former longtime 108 champion Taguchi, in Inoue's 4th fight... Taguchi actually never went down in his entire career while he has been in no less than 10 world titlefights. If you can't see greatness of Inoue, then that's on you.
