I wanted to see a light heavyweight unification back in the early 90s badly. This is one of the fights I was hoping for. Charles Williams was in my mind a boxer-puncher. He could do both. This would be a close fight. I would have leaned towards hill to take a close decision but no guarantees.
I really wanted to see that in the late 80s. At the time I think Virgil would have been favourite and been my pick. But with the advantage of hindsight; I believe Williams would have recovered from one of his infamous slow starts to get to Hill and dominated the middle and late rounds to either win by late stoppage, or more likely as Quicksilver showed he had a ticker, a close but unanimous decision.
