Tyson Fury and Andy Ruiz Jr at the time he beat AJ. You may not like it but that is what a peak physical specimen looks like. Time for me to go hit the buffet, be champ in no time.
Yellow- Look as the alpha male Ken Norton courts his woman, artistic almost as if all those muscles are a thousand peacock feathers soon the mating ritual will begin thank you for this lesson Big Ken.
This thread is a little fruity for a boxing forum. Why don't you check out Bodybuilding.com? You can shamelessly admire muscle men all you want there with other eager simps.
Yellow. We all know that bodybuilders can't punch, but what if they can? Here he throws to the body, his muscles contracting tightly into the infinite flow state where we see the results of studying Conor's mating rituals, sheer artistry in brutality, he maintains eye contact surely showing his fierceness the likes has never been seen except in the minds of true fighting kings, practised an almost infinite amount of times he rises to the level, glorious so in the combat. He can punch, it's body mechanics connected to the infinite.
So many. Jeff Lacy - very lean, good lines and shape. Huge arms. Mike Tyson - bull like neck. Thick torso and has that powerful look most gym junkies would die for. Juan Urango - looks like a Chinese weightlifter. Upper body was massive for only 140lbs. Robin Reid - had that shredded male model "beach body" look David Haye - Tall and ripped Timothy Bradley - with his skin you get that ultra peeled look that the bodybuilders talk about. Easily one of the greatest abs we have seen in boxing.
Harold Johnson and Mike Weaver have bodies shaped like Greek Gods. Both their nicknames are “Hercules.”
Fruity?, Like it’s raining men fruity…..LOL! To be fair, when it strikes them, commentators, experts, historians etc. have always made comment re the more outstanding physical attributes of fighters as they’ve perceived them. It simply goes with the territory. Though, I’ve gotta say, even allowing for different times, Jack London’s detailed physical descriptions of Jeffries prior to facing Johnson were disturbingly OTT, as if he was swooning as he wrote, yielding to different calling besides that of the Wild OR perhaps actually in deference to another Wild, that being Wild(e), first name Oscar. Haha. Never mind. Also, I don’t know how many 1900s fighters upon their examinations were deemed to posses unprecedented physiques and conditioning never before upheld by any another fighter before them. Hyperbole much? Nah. Moving to mod. times, Foreman OFTEN waxed lyrical (gushed?) over the “physical specimen” that was Ken Norton though in the ring George himself made Ken look somewhat lean by comparison. Talking functionality, save for height, Liston could’ve just as easily have been genetically bred for boxing. Ready to fight, straight out of the laboratory, crush, kill, destroy! Big Cat was put together that much better but possessed similar core attributes perfect for boxing, including XL reach and mitts. I tend to think side by side, Norton might’ve paled next to Cleve also.
Looking at fighters' physiques is somewhat relevant to boxing history if you're using it as a supplement to studying the evolution of strength and conditioning methods over time. But I don't know about just listing shapely fighters in some kind of non-bodybuilding physique competition. What are the standards, even?
In general yes. But the are some exceptions. If you go far back, James J Jeffries wore a virtual suit of armor ( when he was in shape ) in the ring. Some guys look really strong and some are just plain strong. He was both.
