Well I'm sure his wins will be viewed more favourably with time. And McDermot isn't really going to matter much as it was when Fury was still green, though the decision was certainly controversial, but he put it right in the rematch. BUT Fury should at a minimum fight Whyte, Usyk AND Joshua. It's called fighting your peers. He should probably fight Joyce as well.
I'd agree he deserved the fight , if he never lost inbetween, though... Ridiculous for him to still state he's been waiting x x x amount of time, he hasn't, that clock was reset and negated when he was sparked cold by old man pov.
Well the WBC rules say the title holder must face a mandatory challenger once a year. We also can deduce that the mandatory position is attached to the interim title. So...Whyte is still the mandatory, and the mandatory challenge is still due. But if you are suggesting he should deduct 6 months for when Povetkin held the title from his general complaints against the WBC these last 5 years, then yeah you are probably correct. But if you are suggesting Whyte should no longer be the mandatory or a mandatory defence is not due, then that would be wrong.
I'm not suggesting anything is deducted, he lost.. there should never have been a rematch clause in the povetkin fight in the first place.. Like said it's all a bit ridiculous to say you've been waiting so long when you've been dribbling on the floor in dreamland inbetween.
Well I can fully understand your frustration. We just had Fury v Wilder 3, Helenius v Kownacki 2, before that we had Ruiz v Joshua 2, and next we are getting Usyk v Joshua 2. None of them were/are justified. However, it is what it is. Whyte won back the interim title and the mandatory is still due. It doesn't change the fact that he had his first title eliminator end of 2016. 2016! That's quite a long time to be passed over, remember the Povetkin fight happened second half of 2020.
The hometown boogeyman, only fights old fighters or fighters coming off a loss and mainly in his own backyard.
Sucks balls and ass that fight getting cancelled I was really looking forwards to it. But i'm into FUry-Whyte as well, love the build up.
I was into Fury-Whyte also but not at the expense of Wallin being shafted by a clear and obvious mallard.
The only reason they took Wallin was for IF Wilder beat Fury Eddie finally might get some Fury money with his 2nd best pawn.
