Saw the fight and she still rely to much on just punches. she has to add something else to her arsenals and also has a long way to go on take down defense. Personally I think it is way to late for her at 26 to make a name in MMA. The talent and competition is to tough in woman MMA
Shields has no idea how MMA striking works. She looked like she started boxing three months ago. Terrible. Always forced the clinch and got pummeled on the ground. That was the easiest +350 underdog i ever cashed in my life albeit it was a corrupt Split Decision in the end it felt like a W after two rounds and she got worked in the third haha
Agreed. Just so easy to time her with double leg tds, just wait for her to throw an over extended right hand. Her take down defense was looking ok otherwise but she kept doing the one thing that was going to get her taken down
Her biggest problem is she is trying to do boxing and mma at the same time. If she wants the same success of a holly holm, she needs to ditch boxing for mma or scrap mma and just do boxing . You cant be part timer in either really.
I guess that's one less potential opponent Amanda Nunes has to stick around for. Now she can fight Julianna Peña, Shevchenko for a third time, and Kayla Harrison; then retire.
