Didn't you read the whole post/thread ?! This was about a brawl, a hook duel, meaning they just stand there and trade in the middle of the ring. Skill goes out the window in such a scenario.
He wouldn't be slipping and sliding anything since he ain't allowed to do that in this hypothetical duel of hooks. He just has to stay in the middle of the ring and trade blow for blow.
Then it's not a duel of hooks anymore, since they are allowed to slip, counter, etc. I thought you were talking about a straight out brawl, where they trade blow for blow.
Frazier could mantain a good defense in the brawl, he's allowed to dodge punches right? If not, Morrison still has a worse chin than him.
If I understood correctly, they are supposed to trade blow for blow, so no slipping punches. Which means Holyfield's superior chin + having 2 good punching hands give him the edge.
He not only never scored knockouts with it he never knocked anyone down with it,and he did not always have a right hand ,Eddie Futch gave him one.
Cooper was a very hard puncher he wobbled Evander who went back on the ropes, and it was ruled a kd.You don;t think he might have done the same thing to Frazier? Cooper was a 7 days late 3rd replacement, that works both ways. Who won the fight?
Sorry, answered many posts and got things mixed up. Morrison had the left hook, just like Frazier, but he hit way harder, so my money's on him.
Frazier vs Tua would be an all out war,I can picture both of them winning,so it would probably end up as a trilogy fight. As for Holyfield one there are two possibilities: 1.Holyfield steadily out boxes Frazier and wins a decision,a tough fight for Holyfield even though he wins 2.Holyfield thinks that he hurt a fighter as tough as Joe Fraizer and goes for the kill,in the process he could get badly hurt and get KOd or at least knocked down a couple times which would probably lead to a KO or TKO,and a UD loss if he somehow pushes through, like in his fight with Bowe It would be a great watch in my opinion
I actually think Frazier beats Holyfield. We've seen Holyfield struggle in there with Qawi and Cooper who are stylistically the closest thing to Frazier. But he did beat Tyson. it's 55/45. Holyfield beating him wouldn't suprise me at all. Frazier might loose to Tua. Frazier would outwork him in the pocket but if he gets clipped he's going down and Tua was an excellent finisher. That's a 50/50 fight right there And Holyfield beats Tua 9/10 times.
Holyfield vs. Frazier: I really don't see Holyfield trying to box Frazier from the outside. I would expect him to get in close and stay there (for the most part), and do what Holy does in close. Occasionally, Holy may drop back and pop shot Joe from outside, but I think this is mainly a telephone booth fight. In a real war, I'll give Evander the nod over 12 rounds, in maybe a Majority Decision win. Fight of the Year! Frazier vs. Tua: This is a really tough fight for Joe. He's up against a similarly styled fighter. (I just believe that Frazier is a tad better at that style, which makes up for the size difference. Joe's also a little faster, IMHO.) Tua is definitely no easy win for anybody! I'm going with a hotly contested split decision win for Joe here.
The Tua I saw was a powerhouse a much more powerful fighter than smokin Joe and in a fight Tua wrecks him just like Tyson would,,,I think Tua's power is on par with the top punchers but Frazier is the greater fighter just not head to head Holyfield could split fights with Frazier ....Holyfields weakness was he could box with the best but he could not deny a fight and Frazier in the trenches and Frazier lives in the trenches....a similar style to Joe was Bert Cooper and Holy had to fight him hard to stop him but Joe is a top tier infighter and Holyfield is as well but Frazier is the better fighter inside I see them splitting fights because of styles either one could outfight the others on the right night
