Gervonta Davis vs Isaac Cruz is set for December 5th

Decent opponent but still hard to get excited for this. I think we all would like to see Tank in a big fight he is obviously an elite talent I don't understand what Mayweather Promotions are doing with the kid.

 

I swear Tank is really an exciting fighter. But this has to stop he’s about to be 27 years old and they're still keeping the training wheels on him. I wish this PPV bombs horrifically so maybe they’ll match him up better.

 

Better than Rolly as a matchup anyway. Still expect a Davis KO. Why not face someone top shelf for once though?

 

Was looking forward to the contest with Rolly as it’s a genuine grudge match.

Cruz isnt a bad replacement, but it should be on regular showtime. This isnt a ppv worthy fight imo.

 

Tank is a PPV fighter and extremely exciting to watch.

 

Decent replacement, nothing to get excited over. Still need to have Tank fight someone that can give him some problems.

 

It depends on the opponent imo that determines if its a ppv quality fight for me, and this isnt it. I think it will do less buys compared to his last 2 ppv fights for sure.

 

What happened to Haney stepping in? That was worth getting excited about.

 

isnt cruz a lightweight fighter, so now he moving all the way to 140 now?

 

I know Haney and Hearn said they were ready, but it's easier to make the match-up in house on short notice. Plus, with the way Haney's negotiations with Jojo have gone, I'm a little cynical about whether they could have worked out a deal with someone from an entirely different promotional outfit.

The other high profile option was Prograis, but Davis apparently wants to fight at 135lbs this time, so that would rule him out.

Honestly, though, Cruz is pretty good. He's dirty AF, aggressive and could make things uncomfortable for Tank.
