Aside from his bouts with Haye and Klitschko, I’m afraid I missed Mormeck’s career, not sure how it slipped past me. How good was he? How would he do in today’s Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions?

He seemed to always keep in top shape from what I can tell, the work ethic was there no doubt.

Good but forgotten. His resume is nice. He had no business at heavyweight though.

Breidis and Okolie would probably beat him. He might be favored over all of the others.

He was a good/exciting fighter but he had issues with stamina and was somewhat limited. I met him when he fought a tune up in St Louis on the Spinks vs Karmazin undercard. He was a really nice guy but was surprisingly short. He was listed at six foot but looked more like 5'9. I don't think he would be a title holder if he fought in this era.

That was a great fight, he was going into this an underdog too, if I remember correctly...

He was a good fighter in an awful division. There's reason why Holyfield left the cruiserweight division pretty quickly.

He perhaps represent a turning point in the fortunes of the cruiserweight division, but he was not quite on the level of the best cruisers today.

I liked him. A working man’s type of fighter. Had a lot of guts and made fights interesting with his busy and aggressive style. How good was he? Probably not an all time great cruiser but a guy who could have given a lot of top cruisers ( and maybe a few heavies ) a good scrap

Yes Big Truck was a Don King fighter and was getting a few write ups at that time. He was undefeated and had some hype going in.

Stamina and defence. He was a catch and counter bulldozer type of fighter. Prone to laspses in output and his defence consisted of covering up behind his muscular arms and shoulders which wasn't too sophisticated. He was extremely strong but not a one shot type of fighter. Didn't stay heavy on his jab and was plodding in his footwork. All time great cruisers would differentiate themselves from him in the mid rounds. Holyfield, Toney, Usyk would KO him. I think even Tony Bellew would outpoint him. Bellew has more variety in offense and the ability to change tempo. I always saw Mormeck fight with an awareness of his gas tank. All that muscle did tend to fatigue and he knew that.

No he couldn't beat him and would get outclassed.
Hill came very close to beating Mormeck in the rematch and he was what 44/45?
