Is Ricky Hatton H.O.F worthy?

People will always say that tzsyu was past his prime, maussa a bum, castillo not in his best weight class, urango another bum and he hasn't even beat Pauli and so do I.

 

yes, but barely, another unification would make a him a solid ballot imo.

 

ummmmmmm very different country mate,hatton just has a very good resume,filled with world champions,an atg in kosta and a hofer in castillo,who even if he was shot he dominated every round until he crushed him in the 4th.stylistically he hammers paulie,i feel it will be replicated this autumn.lazcano was even a very decent opponent.urango was/is a wrecking machine and how hatton handled him was very impressive,maussa is a very good win especially after coming off a win against harris.

for me that filled with lots of journeymen is a very impressive record and if he adds to that with a unification,and a fight against a 135 titleholder it stands him in great stead as the linear/ring champ for 4 years,retiring an ATG and really bringing boxing back into the mainstream,for being so british based he has a huge fanbase in ireland.

if you don't consider this HoF material you either expect everyone to be RJJ,a downright hater or just a cynical ****.

 

He's undefeated at junior welterweight, and his only loss was out of his weight class.

The guy destroyed Tszyu, has taken any other comers at 140 and beat them, and now he's going to beat on Malignaggi, who's really the only other worthwhile competition at 140 (and I don't even believe that pitter patter paulie is that good).

What else do you want him to accomplish? There's not a whole lot of others to fight... he could fight glass jaw Holt I guess...or Witter, who lost his last fight...

IMO hes had a good enough career.
Coupled with the enormous support he generates hes definitely in.

 

Seriously, I think he needs to clean up the divison then beat Pacquiao then he has a shot.

I'm not to sure. I mean he does have wins over Zu and Castillo. However, they were shot fighters and on there way out. With all due repsect to Hatton and his fans. He is fun to watch. Even if he beats Paulie i could not make him an all time great. However, if he beats Pacman then yes all time great.

 

At the moment it sounds like he's Hall Of Fat. Rumours suggest he's currently 40 pounds overweight (nearly 3 stone).

He is about 30/35lbs overweight, which is nothing new. For the Urango fight he had to lose about 45/50lbs

Mentioning the Maussa win is silly - he was an awkward opponent and Hatton dominated, but the guy has yet to win a fight since then :rofl
