To those talking about 'It was even' or 'Close fight'..

Throwing more is not the same as winning rounds. Plant was landing pointless pitter patter. Ginger was landing with intent with every single punch.

Yes I stand by my scores. I saw your scores and clearly we were seeing different things.

Canelo was missing a lot due to Plant’s slick skills.

I had it 96-94 for Canelo going into the 11th.

But that score makes it sound more competitive than it was.

Plant outboxed Canelo for much of the fight, but he just didn't have the power to hurt him.

When Canelo landed his body shots, they took much more out of Plant than vice versa.

Up till round 9, I though we were headed for a decision, 8-4. 116-112.

But midway through round ten, I changed my mind and decided Canelo was going to (successfully) go for the kill in the final two rounds.

I don't see anyone beating Canelo at 168...maybe Bivol if he drops down, but just a maybe.

The fight I want to see id Beterbiev at 175.

And I want to see it before Beterbiev qualifies for senior discounts.

He was boxing well defensively for most of the fight but offensively he offered almost no push back throughout. Canelo felt there was nothing to fear by about round 5.

No, one of us was seeing reality, the other was seeing fantasy. Since no one but you had it a damn near shutout for Plant, I think we know who the one living in Fantasyland is.

You know why I love Berchelt? Because he fights until the end. Regardless of imperfections I like fighters who fights until the end, even Plant.

I had Canelo up 6-4 at the time of the stoppage, but it's the type of fight that would have featured a lot of 10-10 rounds in the 70's and 80's. There was really only one truly clear round that Plant won (the first), but his activity made a lot of the early rounds toss-ups and kinda difficult to score. Canelo had it mostly his way from about the sixth round on, but I did think Plant boxed well enough in the ninth to shade the frame.

So, it's the kind of fight that is close on my card, but was ultimately controlled in large part by Canelo.

Good finish, though. Once Canelo gets a guy hurt, he makes sure they stay hurt.

He barely missed. Canelo landing close to 40% of his punches thrown from what the stats on Showtime said. That's hardly a slick Plant.

    Great minds think alike.

If Beterbiev obliterates Marcus Browne I think Team Canelo will have second thoughts about facing him.

To be fair, most of Canelo's connects were to the body. Plant did a reasonably good job of defending upstairs.

Going to have to rewatch the fight as I scored a lot of early rounds to Plant, but maybe I was giving him too much credit.

He had it something like 8-2 Canelo if I recall. Ridiculous.
