Last time Ward fought, he did'nt look to good getting dominated by Kovalev, would'nt be prudent to make a comeback after being out of boxing so long.

Ward could live in a sauna and still wouldnt make 168 any longer. It would be at 175 at the lowest.

    Been too long.

Ward is retired, and I hope he is enjoying it.

It sounds good, but i know its highly unlikely to happen. Ward should continue doing what hes doing and enjoy his retirement. Theres nothing left to prove.

Only if it is at 175 and Ward gets a tune up or two first

too old and too far removed from competition. he will never be at that level again. it would sell, so they both would get a fat check, but ward gets beat up.

I think it depends on if Ward wants to uphold his legacy or get a pay check. Ward could win the fight, but he would face an uphill battle on multiple fronts, weight, rust, injuries, negotiations, location, percentage cut, judges. He would have to be satisfied that he could win the fight, but not the scorecards. Is the money worth it then?

Also a few years ago I'd say Ward would have won hands down. Now Canelo is ATG good, and Ward may be too rusty.

Every time Ward is asked about coming back he says things like "Never say never, but never." He seems quite content being a pretty intelligent talking head. That being said, big money or one last shot at glory has lured many men into an ill-advised comeback.

After posting this thread, I've just realized that Ward can't make 168 anymore. This dream match should happen at 175. Ward is a lot bigger than Canelo and he's so slick. I don't think he's gonna get beat up but he might be beaten.

Ward has been out of the ring for well over 4 years, probably getting onto 5 if such a fight would ever happen.
He was outboxed in his last 2 outings by a Kovalev on the slide, and needed the full backing of the officials to get handed controversial wins.
He wouldn't be the a-side, would need to comply to Canelo's demands, probably with weight restrictions. He also wouldn't get away with his trademark excessive clinching, holding and hitting, lowblows and headbutts. Neither would he have the support of the judges he always had before, making it very unlikely to come out as the victor.

He's better of staying retired, unless money is an issue, taking priority over legacy.

When the money is right anything can happen guys. In fact, this dream match should take place at 175. I heard that Canelo is planning to move to that weight class next. He's so ambitious.
