This content is protected How far do you think Clarke can go as a pro? He's no Spring chicken so Matchroom better go the Joyce route and push him fast.
Might as well push him fast to see what he is capable of. No point feeding him D level opponents and lose a tonne of money later on if he is not top tier. You might as well see if he is capable of giving you a good return on your investment right now,
Guy like him should be looking for a British title in his second or third fight, European title level fights before 10.
Knowing about his very hittable style and his questionable chin, I reckon his pro career goes the way of David Price more than Anthony Joshua.
He was one of the few talents in the amateur super heavies. He medaled in several events in the past and is 30 now. Not likely to advanced past the regional level. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frazer_Clarke
I don't see him doing as well as Joshua or Joyce. He's far too easy to hit and prone to trading too much and that going to cost him as a pro. But maybe he can become a fan favourite with his style, best I think we can expect is he ends up like a Chisora, not good enough at top level but can give fans an entertaining fight and make some decent paydays if matched up with the right opponents.
Not seen anything of him which makes me think he'd shine in the pro ranks but there's a very big adjustment from amateur super heavy to pro heavy in terms of the kind of output of punches and movement needed to be successful. The drop in intensity is probably more dramatic than any other division - so maybe it clicks for him in the pro ranks. Price for example never stopped bouncing around on his toes when he turned pro and, surprise, surprise, he developed a gas tank issue...
Unlikely he will be as good as Joyce but he needs to follow that model of matchmaking if he’s to be a success turning over so late on. Joyce has been a pro for 4 years, had 13 fights, and is now knocking on the door for a title shot but still has to wait as Whyte has been long ahead in the queue. Should focus mostly on a UK HW crash course towards a trinket with the likes of a Tom Little debut, Sokolowski acid test, Kevin Johnson, Nick Webb, Dave Allen, Kash Ali. If he passes with flying colours then target the tougher competition in the likes of Babic, Wardley, Bakole etc.
british title or european title max probably for him.. hes kinda old now and tbh was never as good as joyce either.
As stated above, unlikely to go that far since he's easy to hit and has a questionable chin. Still, he should be in some entertaining fights along the way!
