This is the old cruiserweight limit, nowadays it would be a catch weight. Don't be surprised if Canelo has more catchweights in his future. All the modern a side greats did it: Manny, Floyd, Oscar, Warde (vs Dawson) Jones Jr possibly in the Ruiz fight. What comes to mind is the toney versus jirov fight. Both guys, Canelo and James can and would make this weight. Let's discuss
James Toney is my favorite fighter of all time. Based on what he was able to do at Cruiser weight I would have to slightly edge Toney, but Canelo is proving to be a very good fighter. His hand speed , upper body movement and punch placement could pose a problem with JT.
