so what now - they going to put Wlad in a time machine and send him back to "that point" to fight Povetkin?

Povetkin is no where ready for Wlad at this point and Sykes offered nothing to help him. Povetkin's only chance is on the inside and Wlad will nail him coming in and immediately tie him up. Povetkin is a smaller orthodox fighter without a big punch, Wlad destroys guys like that.

But Povetkin won't have these 'few more fights' before he faces Wlad. That's why I'm certain he will lose, and lose badly, it's just too early to face Wlad. And the time that he had for his preparation, he wasted it on facing Taurus Sykes instead on someone that is at least a little bit as dangerous as Wlad, or at least someone who comes to fight. Bad management there...

But in the end, losing to Wladimir Klitschko in ones 17th pro fight isn't half as bad as losing to Ross Purrity in ones 24th pro fight...

He would be Wlads toughest opponent out there though. Of course it would be better to get more fights under Povetkins belt before he faces the best out there, but I cannot understand how people can't see that Povetkin is all wrong for Wlad.......:-(

Horrible attempt at an analysis above

No, but it does suggest that Povetkin is developing much faster than Klit., and that his potential may be higher. While Wlad was fighting with guys like Lampkins and Husarik at this stage of his career (gosh he didn't even get to Ross "the BOSS" until his 24th fight), Povetkin is taking on and winning with the likes of Donald, Chambers and Byrd and is toying with a champoinship bid. Like I said, light years ahead of Klit in his development and for that matter, light years ahead of all the heavyweights.

My concern is that if Povetkin has a chin like Byrd or Brewster, he's going to take one of those beatings that can seriously damage a fighter. Mercer was well past it, but his iron chin was still there and that made it ugly. It would be wise for Povetkin's mangement to turn down the fight, won't happen though.

Right now, I think Wlad has too much for Povetkin. If I were Povetkin's manager, I'd try to make a match with Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko is a bit like Wlad.

In 16 fights he might be ahead but you have to remember that Wlad was a World Champ at 25 yrs old and Povetkin is two months away from being 29 yrs old...

Wlad is only 3 1/2 yrs older than Povetkin believe it or not..

A question for those saying potvekin has no chance.........

Do you remember how many people said Corrie Sanders, Ross Purrity, and Lamon Brewster had no chance??? I do no one gave them a cats chance in hell.

Potvekin has a strong chance with wlads china chin, mental panic attacks, and mediocre stamina.

I like Povetkin and I hate to see him fight Vlad, just hop it does not ruin his career. Vlad by very brutal knockout.
