Wilder without question for me. Freakishly so as already mentioned by some. Regardless of opinions of both men, begrudgingly or not, I think this will be a thread where the majority of the forum will be basically in agreement.
Wilder has heart but when you get hit harder, heart goes out of the window. People aren't taking into consideration punching power. Let's see how many punches he can take from a harder puncher. Fury isn't a big puncher.
I've never liked Wilder. I would be rooting for Joshua if they ever fought, because I consider him a better person. But to be honest, Wilder has more heart.
This is a really dumb thread. Wilder didn't even have the heart to FACE AJ. Not even after being offered 120 million to do so.
I don’t really understand why Wilder’s record is so bare if he’s got such a great heart. Heart isn’t just about taking a beating, it’s also about pursuing fights that matter.
- got off the canvas to beat Klitschko - badly hurt by Whyte early, hung on to dominate and stop him - Rallied to stop Povetkin sustaining a broken nose in the process(cards had AJ up, but that's BS) - avenged an embarrassing loss convincingly - accepts defeat like a man - Battered into submission 2x by Fury(not known as a big puncher) - Benefited from a highly suspect timely break after being out on his feet against Grandpa Ortiz - months of silence after Fury II, followed by all sorts of absurd excuses - reduced to a laughing stock. Refused to shake hands with Fury after the trilogy fight. AJ has Wilder beaten in the heart and class departments, and would have beaten him very easily had they actually fought.
Wilder doesn't have 'heart' in the sense posters here are talking of. He is delusional and spiteful, which is what kept him in with Fury for so long. I honestly don't think he'd show the same staying power against another fighter - he just hates Fury specifically and held on to any chance he had. I think his propensity to quickly accept obscene excuses also showcases this imo. Besides, we'll never truly know due to his dire resume. Joshua does have more heart in the 'classic' sense and this thread honestly shows the esb circle jerk against Joshua. I don't like him but you can't deny he has shown more consistent balls in his career and matchmaking. I don't see how you can watch the Klit fight and not think he has heart. Joshua is unsure of himself though, especially nowadays, but that's different from not having heart.
Getting a beating and continue to take a beating because he ran his mouth is not hard. Pride and stupidity is what I'd call it.
No denying Wilder showed plenty of heart vs Fury in the 3rd fight. Having that ability to hang in there is great if it allows you to turn things around like in the first Ortiz fight but when it just means you take a prolonged beating like we saw vs Fury it's probably more detrimental than a benefit. It's a shame Wilder didn't have other attributes like courage and self belief so he would of tried unifying against Wlad or Joshua, humility after losing to Fury and take his loss like a man, rather than latch on to the crazy conspiracies of his deranged fan base, ring IQ and adaptability so he could come back from his loss and win the rematch, instead of going in and taking another beating. But hey at least he has heart.
Wilder,I prefer Joshua but once he sees that the chances of winning are low he just gives up,he gavu up against Ruiz, and he really didn't try to change the pace of the Usyk fight,if other fighters were easily outboxed like he was they would just grit their teeth and rush in for a KD or KO,he looked like he was doing it for any other reason instead of winning...
Wilder. Joshua would rather lose on points than risk winning and getting knocked out. Wilder’s a horrific boxer and borderline mentally ******ed, but at least he’s got balls.
I think AJ would beat the brakes off Wilder if they ever fought, but, Wilder has more heart. Dumbass has to be beaten near to death before he takes a nap. AJ gets that goofy look on his face just before he folds mentally. Not saying Joshua is a wimp - he's not - but Wilder will go out like roadkill before folding.
