Corner did the right thing. He needed a KO to win and he wasn't getting that and eating power punches. I would watch Davis in the future. Crazzy heart

**** opponent, at least I wanted to see him fight Uzcategui who popped dirty. If I was Canelo, I'll try to get that Benavidez fight starting Monday.

The ref told Davis “this is a close fight”. Dude was gonna get this kid killed against this weight bully.

Benavidez is just electric, I just hope he stays focused and continues to box so we get to see where his career goes.

I hope Benavidez bullies the bully but i'm not sure his defense is upto it.

He relies on his explosive punches when his opponents are on the ropes and he can be countered.

He uses his size well which would help him vs Canelo. He has good size and strength but i'm not sure about the rest.

Canelo beats this version of Benavidez into a coma.

Yes, Benavidez is all right for Canelo, I think. He doesn't utilise his reach and at mid-range that rangy upper body is just more area to land on for Canelo who already has every advantage except stamina at that range.

And even though Benavidez looks like a machine I don't know that his stamina really has been tested in a war. It's one thing when you're on top, but another when the you're hurting and the other guy is teeing off on you every time you leave slightest opening and even when you don't.

Benevidez has the best shot at beating Canelo of all the 168 pounders combined. Its going down in may.

If Canelo takes on Benavidez next it's going to be claimed afterwards that Benavidez was custom made for him and he only took him on to stall on Beterbiev and wait for him to get even older.

But those guys hate Canelo and shouldnt be taken serious. If your hope for Canelo to get beat is at 175, when hes not even a 175 pounder says how much you really DKSAB!

i think hes the most legit, even with his faults. canelo will respect his power. it might not put you to sleep with one, but it will deplete you.
hes been a beast for a while, but i havent seen him progress like i would like. if his next fight isnt canelo i would like to see him get a trainer that can teach him better ways to cut distance, better angles, and some rhythm defensively. i like his offensive abilities, his hands are fast, throws every punch in the book with great coordination, and he punches from very deceptive positions. he throws punches at points others dont, so theyre hard to evade cause you aint used to seeing it.
i dont think he can beat canelo right now, but thats not the end of the world for him. hes young, he can get better, and he has a very fan friendly style. i say give the youngster the shot at the ring.

Havn't seen Benevidez, but what makes him better than Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith etc?

Totally different fighter. Style-wise I think he's easier for Canelo than BJS, but he's also more exciting.

I'd love for Canelo to move up to LHW and face Beterbiev and Bivol and then let Benavidez (who's a very big SMW already) come up and face him there.

i dont think its a size problem, i think its a preparation problem. he was carrying some flab and didnt appear to be drained. he was sharp, timing was good, and never looked lacking in energy. a good nutritionist and a conditioning coach would fix it, i think.
