He is fighting at 190. Makabu has not weighed that much in years. He will be a skeleton. BS fight.

Agreed it will be fixed if it does happen. Anyway Makabu will be dead at 190 lbs.

There is no equivalence here. RJJr beat James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. Who has Canelo beat? Levels.

naturally bigger man, with different mountains to climb. the man is taking down whats out there, and he has plenty of time to get to all the big game. give the man his due.

Canelo would probably hardnose Makabu down to a 190lb Catchweight.

In the words of Paul Heyman, "That isn't a prediction: It's a spoiler." :sisi1

He would devour an Everest-sized mound of Mexican beef.

If Canelo is fighting at Cruiser, his plan must be to weighin in the low 180's, claim the title and then come down to continue his career at
    175 lbs.

I'm not liking it. I think Canelo looks great at 168 lbs and I'd prefer to see him at his best. There is absolutely no way Canelo could be at his best at Cruiserweight.

If he actually fights in the 190s at what looks like 5'8 maybe even 5'7, that's just crazy.

190 isn’t a catch weight though; it’s the new WBC limit for Cruiserweight due to the addition of the Bridgerweight class.

He won't fight at cruiser: he will fight at a catchweight of 190, probably with a rehydration clause so that Makabu will be suitably drained, tired, disorientated and brittle while Canelo won't have to cut any weight at all. Bear in mind that Makubu will be officially 34.5, probably older and heavy weight-cutting hurts older fighters more than younger fighters. Plus Makabu will have been 18 months inactive, isn't a natural modern cruiser in frame and was KO'd in 3 rounds 5.5 years ago by Tony Bellew. Canelo will be hitting the Mexican beef hard as per usual, while Makabu will be strictly surveilled. Makabu will accept these terms happily because he'll make lots of money selling his belt.

Aside from the credit of being a rare "5 weight champion", Canelo is seeking to age Beterbiev out further. Compare Makabu's performance against former LHW contender and future Usyk-victim Bellew to Beterbiev's three fights against future HW champion Usyk in the amateurs, plus his fights against Hunter and Dorticos.
